Lease end question, wheel scratch

Not sure this is the right place to ask. Please feel free to move or remove if not.

I am planning a lease return. Asking for suggestions on the scratches on the wheel. Should I worry it being considered as excess wear? For worst scenario, how much GM is going to charge for this type? Any easy cheap fix before I hand it over? Thanks

Based on my prior experience with BMWs, I think you should be ok. Not sure how anal Chevy could be though.

When you get your preinspection see what the charge is.

Have you scheduled your AutoVIN inspection?

Just get the inspection done and see what they say.

Based on the pics I’d say it’s 50/50 on whether they will ding you or not. You won’t know until you get the inspection.

Even if they do ding you for a scratched rim your charge will be minimal, under $150 or so, so really a personal decision at that point on whether it’s worth your time and effort to get it fixed for cheaper.

Thanks everyone!

I have pre inspection scheduled in a week. Was thinking to do something before inspection or too late. Sounds like not a big concern. Hopefully the inspector will be nice to me

Pre-inspection and see if it’s more cost-effective to refinish the wheels locally for a few hundred bucks

Don’t be rash (Irish whiskey humour), and be patient

Get it nice and dirty prior to inspection

A wheel repair guy should be able to fix that for $75-100.

Finally got the pre inspection done last week (had to reschedule twice due to bad weather) and got the report. Turns out nothing was mentioned about the wheel scratch, I guess they don’t care.

The floor mats are a catch. I did not spend time to clean them (still snow and dirt everywhere outside these days, not worth the effort) and thought to throw away when returning. So I removed the floor mats for a clean look during the inspection. The report came back showing $50/missing mat. My previous lease return never required floor mats returned. Is this just a GM thing? Should I buy a cheap set but new? I am not optimistic about cleaning them, they are pretty bad in my opinion, whoever resell the car would not use them. Thought?
