Lease end Infiniti dealer refuses to take it

First time leasing infiniti. Lease ended and I extended now the third month which is the max they will do. Lease maturity was TODAY. So I went to drop it off at dealer and they refused to take it. Said I had to have it inspected first. This is the first I’ve ever heard of this considering I’ve leased from Lexus bmw Audi.

Infiniti financial is closed.
So what happens when I still have this car tomorrow?

Nothing. Call another dealer and see if someone else will take it. Dealers pull that crap when they don’t want to deal with the taking the lease return.

Meaning OP can other dealers who will take it? Why wouldn’t take it? That’s my question. They can either acquire it and sell it at the auction or buy the car

probably just came across someone who has no idea what he’s doing.

In the past I ordered my Q50 from Boston and the dealership closed down a few years later. Even if they were open, I wasn’t driving back to take it.

No dealer would take the car. I had to make up a story to one that I’m leaving for Canada the next day for work and he took it in.

They claimed that there wasn’t space on the lot. Had I know that it would’ve been an issue at return, I still would’ve leased out of state for the best price then figure it out at lease end.

Also, getting an inspector isn’t difficult. It’s in your best interest to have it inspected and receive the report vs blindingly dropping it off at the dealership.

Dealer is required to take it as part of their franchise agreement with Infiniti. Report them to Nissan.

Many dealers however only take during “business hours,” unless of course you are getting another Infiniti.

Don’t dealers doing lease returns get first dibs on inventory? You’d think they want the used car…

Do you know if you have equity in it? You can probably sell it to them for more than you owe on it.

literally any nissan or infiniti dealer can ground this car for you. just call around to a couple of places. most likely won’t ground it on the weekend. but your lease isn’t due, technically. call up NMAC and ask for a 10 day grace period to return the lease.
