Lease didn't go through advice

Leased a Lyriq on 12/27/24 or so I thought. Today I got a call from dealer saying something about the way the taxes are there is like a $6 difference and they will keep my payment the same and I guess they will eat the ($6x24) amount.

Question 1.
A few days after I got the car I got an offer for a bonus of $1250 from my GM Card (I have had a card for years) if I buy between 1/3/25 and 2/28/25. I mention it to the dealer and they said something like I can use it on parts or something didn’t want to change the deal. I don’t get the money unless I buy a new car I don’t get anything toward parts.

I called GM Card and they say the $1250 is there the dealer just has to call them and get the refund of what I had when I purchased a few weeks ago and then redo it and my old amount (around $2100) and the new $1250 would be there. GM card acts like it is not a problem but the dealer would have to call them and do it.

  1. Can I just walk away from this deal completely and turn the car back in?
If I do that what would I need to do to not get screwed over?

Another words am I holding all the cards?

Thanks

Different programs, your $1,250 cannot be used with the deal you signed. You’ll burn the bridges with your dealer by walking away.

So the dealer is eating the price increase and keeping the price the same as your original deal, but you want to back out now? :man_facepalming:

Just ask the dealer if they can apply the extra rebate to existing deal. If they use new programs - you might be able to use it.

No, he wants to back out of the previous deal to try and get $1,250 of GM incentive money this month. The $6 x 24 months is a red herring since the dealer already agreed to eat that.

IMO he’s not getting out of his December deal, and I don’t think any F&I person is going to change the contract months into CY25 since it messes up all the VPA incentives and metrics.

I get the desire to save $1250, but that’s a s**** move as you’re screwing the dealer and it’s just bad faith

Thanks for the replies, resigned with same payment.
