Lease Deal Check - Audi A6 Sportback e-tron

I went into the dealer and asked for an out the door price and got one for this A6 Sportback rear wheel drive e-tron. Here are the details:

MSRP: 70,335 - includes the convenience package, paint color, Audi Guard Protection kit, Audi Beam (rings)
36 month lease
12,000 miles/year
0 down, other than first month ($773)
Out the door including tax, title, tag

$773/month

The deal sort of happened on its own and we didn’t get into the usual back and forth and discussions about the residual, money factor, dealer add ons, etc. since I wanted OTD and whatever junk they wanted to throw on was not going to effect the price.

Is there a way to back into the usual details put into the lease calculator, or are they unimportant since I have a monthly, OTD deal and they don’t really matter at this point and the only question left is, Is $773/month inc. taxes a good deal.

If you are happy with the deal and already signed, enjoy the new ride.

If you haven’t signed and wanted to see your true deal- you should be able to fill out the LH calculator with your contract. (If you don’t know what goes where- leasing 101 is a good place to start. Compare the LH marketplace deals and broker offerings in your georgraphic area.

Only you can decide whether it’s a good deal or not. (I don’t know anything about A6’s deals, but I don’t think $773 on $70335 is a LHr deal that will get people to ask to replicate.)

What day did you get this quote?

Did you compare it to one of the brokers here who indicated Audi recently added some marketing dollars to EV’s?

Out of curiousity why the focus on OTD pricing? That’s typically something we see from CarEdge viewers that is a different method than used on LH’er.

TBH, I hate the back and forth usual dealer BS and didn’t want to get into all sort of conversations about dealer add ons, I likely would walk away if they started to discuss vin etching and protective coatings. I figured, just give me OTD after tax title tag and the number stood on its own. I looked at a few brokers but Im looking at the one you listed now … Thanks

Shouldn’t John be bouncing his head up and down?

What was your OTD lease target payment and DAS?

Don’t recall any comps for this exact car but looking at what people have signed in the last six for less or very close, this would easily be a hard pass for me.

I did not have a target, but was comparing the purchase to a MB EQE 350 demo with 10,000 miles which would be $599 plus taxes (6.625%). So, sticking in the 6-$700 range was my target. I also dislike BMW and was trying not to get a sedan rather than an SUV.

That’s not how you hack a deal. You should only go into a dealership to test drive the car.

What trim? Premium Plus or Prestige?

What discount off MSRP are you being offered?
What rebates are applied to the deal?
What is the breakdown of all the fees?
What is your tax rate?

I’m not really following this car, but from what I’ve picked up here through osmosis this triggered my gag reflex.

And not just because the deal is so opaque.

You need to learn how to use and populate the LH calc here so you have an idea of what payments look like for a particular car…or just pay a broker…either will save you thousands.

All this is personal taste obviously, but I am not a BMW fan, have owned several, and don’t want an SUV. Truthfully the A6 has gotten nice reviews and all the cars you listed are in roughly the same price point and not really “better” than the A6. It’s not like I can get a luxury sedan for $400/month compared to the A6 at $773 OTD. All these cars are going to price at or higher than the $773 when you include taxes and 0 down payment.

This was a Premium with the convenience package added (I want the adaptive cruise assist but not the extra items in the Premium Plus package.

Please stop f*cking around and just contact @aronchi @IAC / @IAC_Scott / @IAC_Nick @AutoCompanion @AutoNinjas @BimmerCarDeals or any other broker that handles Audi and services the tri-state area.

This is painful to watch as it looks like you are throwing money in the :fire: due to some unwarranted dealer contact trepidation.

You are welcome.

I don’t disagree that populating the leasing calculator would break things down nicely, but I’ve looked at brokers and nobody seems to be beating my deal (that I’ve found) once you add taxes. And just because I got an OTD price does not mean I got a bad deal. It just means the deal is, as someone said, opaque. Not bad, just not necessarily clear regarding how we got to the final price. I’ll try to break out the numbers and put them into the calculator tonight.

Don’t do it for anybody except yourself…it literally takes a minute. And OTD is meaningless…all lease deals have a payment amount and a DAS…and using calcs or a spreadsheet you can set the DAS to be what you want.

What if you bought some add on in the finance room…how would you know what the payment should be then? Trust them? LOL!

All the brokers that I have looked at here on LH have pricing that is not as good as mine when you add the taxes (and add their fee). Move the miles to 12,000 from the 7500 they show in their worksheets and add the taxes and my numbers are good. I understand most people that walk into a dealer unarmed get taken and so you think my off the cuff OTD price of $773 sucks, but just because the method is ugly does not mean the result is. Sorry for inflicting nails on chalkboard pain.
