New lease human here. Trying to sort out if this is an ok deal before I pull the trigger. This is my first luxury car and I’m very outside my expertise on this given I’m used to fighting for sub250 lease deals on cars im more used to
NorCal Bay Area
Black 2024 BMW i4 edrive35
36 month lease
Packages : Park assist, Drive assist (can’t remember the name), premium package, Harmon kardon speaker, m style package
Trade in $6000
7,500 miles a year lease (overage is $0.25 a mile)
Quoting me
$843 a month if I pay an additional $1000 down
$776 a month if I pay an additional $3000 down
To me this seems a bit high. I know the car is fairly well loaded but I’ve see i4 E40 go for low 700s
Need some more expert opinions. I don’t really even think I should need to put anymore down beyond my trade in to get low 700 mid-high 600s. But my math is bad and I’m new to all this.
No, just don’t do it. Negotiate at least 8% discount and get rid of lease end protection. Also make sure to get base MF. Check the marketplace for much better deals that will allow you to keep the $6K in equity.
Drive assist is DAPP. Its nice to have (for some people). Premium package and Park assist I highly recommend.
$1K discount is not good enough. Brokers in the Market place are offering 8% off. I think theres a rep from BMWDave on here that covers the North Bay Area. Tashara?
One of the biggest lessons on here is not to mix a trade-in with a purchase. You could lose money that way.
$776 a month with $3K down after a $6K trade in? No! Please don’t do it. Brokers have quoted in the 500’s before tax with way less down.
Its to cover any scratches dents and other things that i might get charged for. Given im in bay area where folks will hit your doors without a 2nd thought in some areas, figured it was worth it. That said, after seeing some of the broker deals, I decided not to proceed
BMW lease end protection does waive all excess wear and tear up to a $5000 limit. Most notably, it also waives tire wear. $2400 is too much for it, like everything else it should be negotiated, but it’s not a terrible idea for somebody who is not inclined to deal with these things themselves.
Honestly this should just be banned from a public safety perspective. Too many people driving around on basically bald tires just because they’ve prepaid for the right to return them like that. The waived charge isn’t free, they’ve just prepaid it or most of it.
Putting on brand new tires before the third winter of a 36m lease is a much better use of that money
