Monthly payments
Your first monthly payment of $ 500 is due on 12/01/2017, followed by 35 payments of $500 due on the 1st of each month.
So on 12/01/2017, I paid the first payment for using the car for 30 days, until 01/01/2018, in which I pay again for the next 30 days and so on.
35 months after 12/01/2017 is 11/01/2020. So since the last payment is 11/01/2020, does it mean I have 30 days to use the car and return it on 12/01/2020?
I contacted a few dealers to schedule a lease return and they told me to bring the car anytime, no appointment necessary. They said they’ll do the inspection on the spot.
So am I REQUIRED to do Autovin inspection first or no?
No you are not REQUIRED, but if they find something wrong as you turn it in, no opportunity to fix it. Plenty of stories on here about people getting unexpected bills because they skipped the pre-disposition inspection.
You do you, but the smart LH gets inspected 30 days out.
So far there’s nothing wrong with the car. Just finished maintenance and no mechanical or electrical damage. No dent, scratch or windows crack. Tire is good since the car have less than 12K (3 years lease).
A lot can happen in that time. If the car is fine and you want to take the risk and turn in without one, you may.
In 4 returns, I think my longest inspection was 30 mins, they came me wherever I was (including out of state on business with the lease). People here report lots of surprises, which is why we recommend it.
Seems very short and since you had many experiences on this, how did they do the inspection? E.g. test drive the car, lift up the car and look up under the carriage, etc.
They don’t drive it. They open hood/trunk, inspect interior and exterior, they check for the manual and keys. If you search “autovin” on the site there are many, many, many reports. I learn new things from them all the time.
