Lease (CA registration) from Out of state dealer

currently looking at a lease from out of state which gave me way better deal than CA delaer.
it will be WA/OR dealer.

Can Out of state dealer handle CA registration?
like get CA temporary plate and all the paper work?

if so is there anything I need to do after getting a car?
if EV, smog test is not required, so maybe just vin verification?

Wonder how brokers are working when they ship to CA buyer.

Yes, if they want to. If a dealer says they can’t, it’s because they don’t want to.

No, you’ll get temps from the state you picked it up from. Dealer will then need you to complete the physical vin verification and send the paperwork back to them. Then it’s a matter of waiting and hope the paperwork doesn’t get messed up (whether in-house or by a third party runner).

There’s always some legwork involved from the buyer. Once you get used to it it’s pretty straightforward.

what car is it

A random CA dealer or a Marketplace dealer?

Thanks for the details info. it help me a lot to understand the process. yeh dealer told me they can handle CA registration but no comment about VIN verification so wated to check. also waiting dealer response for more details.

it’s MB EQS

Includes all of them

Considering we have like 3 mb brokers in CA but you got a better deal in WA?

You might want to make sure the ~ 2k in TTL is included

Yeh it’s better even considering shipping. Offer from out of state also includes CA registration and fees

You won’t have to do a smog abatement if it’s an electric vehicle, but you will have to go through a VIN verification to get it registered.

well that’s super nice. post it on signed when you get it.

Yeh thanks for confirming this. Also got information from dealer which I need VIN verification in person then need to ship docs to them for registration. All other registration parts they can handle
