Lease BMW i3 now, or wait

I currently have 3 more payments left on my 2015 kia soul ev+ (250/mo (750 total)). Currently looking at 2017 i3.
Do you think its better to wait till march and try to grind a deal (lease up april 25), or take advantage of the December deals. FYI first topic post. Love this forum!

I’ve been looking into this quite a bit as my Fiat lease is up in February.
Here’s what the discounts are right now that I know of:

  • $9500 in lease cash available
  • $1000 if recent graduate
  • $2000 if existing i3 owner
  • $2000 off purchase or $1000 off finance or $500 off lease (if USAA member)

Sales discounts seem to average 9% off MSRP with a high of 13%.
The 2018 models are coming, and while there are a lot of i3 REX on the lots, there are very few BEV versions.

I’m leaning towards leasing one now but not sure I want the long commitment as I’m on the list for a Model 3 (yeah, so is everybody…)

Yeah I’m on the list too (near the top dec-feb delivery) but I don’t want to buy only lease, so I guess I will wait through another lease. Do you know if the USAA discount is outside the regular sales discount?

Make your best deal, then get the USAA discount. Described here

There won’t be leftover 2017’s in April. If you think you can score a really good price on a 2017 worth moving on that right now.

It is always a gamble on incentives but I would guess the deals on 2017’s in December are going to be better than 2018’s in April.

How long can one do a pull ahead? My lease ends July 30 and if I can get an equivalent 2017 at the same price or better I would do it!

2015 i3 Rex w almost all options except leather seats and moonroof at $301.xx incl 9.25% tax.

I’m in the same situation. Also, you should get $500 pre-inspection rebate as well.

$7,500 iPerformance Lease Credit
$2,000 Holiday Lease Credit
$2,000 i3 Loyalty Rebate (must have i3 now)
$1,000 College Grad Rebate
$500 Pre-Inspection Rebate

Total $13,000

@ragrave: What is a Pre-Inspection rebate?

I think I qualify for the following:
$7,500 iPerformance Lease Credit
$2,000 Holiday Lease Credit
$500 Corporate Fleet
$1000 OL Code Coupon

$11k total discount.

Not sure about the $500 Pre-Inspection Rebate
Is there a loyalty discount on the i3 for owning a BMW in the household (X5), I assume not.

I do not qualify for the below:
$2,000 i3 Loyalty Rebate (must have i3 now)
$1,000 College Grad Rebate

this would be a no brainer if I qualified for all of the above, but I only qualify for the following:
$7,500 iPerformance Lease Credit
$2,000 Holiday Lease Credit
$500 Corp fleet or USAA (don’t stack)

so I am really trying hard to negotiate a bigger discount off the MSRP (9% is easy need closer to 15%) so I can get closer in price to having i3 loyalty.

I got 11% off plus 11500 in rebates, plus fleet. $395 including taxes, zero drive off, 35 payments. Msrp 57,245. Signed this week in Los Angeles. And I’ll still get 2500 California debate and 450 Edison rebate. Average those in and I’m at $300 flat.

do you know if you can stack, Corp, OL and College?

Newbie question…how do you get the Owner Loyalty code coupon?
I have a current i3 lease.

Do you do this (show ur registration copy) at the time of the transaction or do you do it in advance?
