not actually…just wanted to get some opinions from some folks on here. If some collector offered me 10k over what I paid for it, then I’d probably let it go. But again I actually want it, just afraid im gonna drive the value out of it.
How much would you accept right now for your allocation?
considering they sold out in 12 hours, I’m thinking 10k…msrp plus 10k I don’t think is unreasonable to some for the last 392 hemi’s ever in a run of 2000…
I mean people on here are paying 2-5k over msrp on hybrid Toyota Sienna’s all day ! lol
Yea but Toyota can’t built enough of em, and Stellantis is canceling the 300 for lack of demand. I know the close out limited edition sold out, just sayin’.
no doubt…and there’s like a 6 month waiting period for those mommy taxi’s
In all seriousness, I don’t think picking this car up is a good idea, unless you really want the car for yourself
I bet there is someone willing to pay $100k for this car, but will you find him? I doubt it. The stars will likely not line up
If you want a 392 300c, it’s cool. If you think the car won’t be under water instantly, I don’t think you should take that bet
I hear ya. I don’t make the rules, lol.
Hybrids have been in pretty hot demand this year for obvious reasons. Minivans, strangely came back into vogue and at times have been the vehicle segment with the largest imbalance of supply to satisfy market demand.
Old article, but makes the point. https://www.kbb.com/car-news/minivans-now-the-hottest-selling-vehicles-in-america/
Also, think in terms of next best alternative: even the best 3-row SUVs don’t quite come close to the space efficiency of a minivan. Then add the real as well as perceived value of a hybrid and its fuel efficiency.
As for the 300C limited edition, theres Dodge Charger equivalents, there’s used 300 SRT8, theres 300 Hemi (5.7L).
I’ve seen plenty of limited edition models ‘sell out’ and go on to not really hold value particularly well.
I hear ya…I agree with you guys that yes it aint going up in value for a looooong time if ever. But again, I truly bought it for an awesome Sunday driver to make great memories with the family. I sold my other garage queen (massed produced 22 LT1 Camaro for 5k more than I paid for it) so it’s time for another that my 2 boys can actually fit in ! But I’ll probably need to live another 50 years to find out if im proven correct.
Can you sell your allocation? No. This is Stellantis. This has been talked about many times in the 4xe thread. Once your name is on an order, that’s it. You can accept it or reject it when it arrives, but if you reject it, it is the dealer who gets to sell it, not you.
As for value, time will tell. They haven’t made an SRT8 version in quite some time BUT how many people are so in love with the looks of the 300 over the Charger that they want to pay much more for one? You can order a 6.4 Charger at a discount from sticker.
IF you can get an early allocation and be one of the first to buy it and put it on the open market, I think you might make some bucks. It is a big gamble though.
this made me laugh.
Except the final Oldsmobiles were rarer!
2011, to be exact, although they did have a “facelift” in 2015. That thing is ancient in car years.
Sure, perhaps if you park it and forget it for the next 60 years, you might be able to sell for a decent buck to reap the rewards 20 minutes before death.
I thought the Chrysler 300 die hards would want to know, they’re killing their biggest fans:
Please be sure your classic isn’t on the STELLANTIS DO NOT DRIVE list (hint: they all belong there)
Chrysler… BAHAHAHA.
Well, I think this is enough internet for today.
I know I’m late to the party, I must agree with others that this car will not be a collector car or demand crazy mark ups. When Dodge released those colorful Daytona’s back in 06 and numbered them everyone who owned one thought the car would be a collector. I think you know how that turned out.
Another thing, anyone can swap a 6.4 into the current 300 for fairly cheap. People want power, not the additional BS goodies that will come on this manufactured 6.4L 300.
I was actually thinking they still make Chryslers?
