I’m trying to shop for a Kona EV Ultimate and seeing a ton for sale. The couple quotes I’ve gotten have been straight MSRP minus rebates. I’ve made a few offers at around 5% off MSRP, which I think is reasonable and not heard back.
Are these cars that hot where a 5% off MSRP on the sale price is laughed at? Or am I just approaching this wrong?
it just seems like no dealers want to even provide a small discount. crazy. lots of inventory too.
it was the same when i was shopping for leafs earlier this week, except they had even more inventory, especially leftover 2020s. and not a single dealer wanted to come off msrp.
The real reason is supply is low. They can have a ton on hand today…but this summer they will have jack. If you need a car now, maybe look at the Kia Niro EV premium, similar car
I don’t recommend the Bolt because if you are getting a Hyundai Ultimate, you want a sunroof which isn’t in the bolt.
BTW only the 2021 comes with $125 free charging, the 2020 does not.
If you have multiple dealers saying you’re wrong on the incentives and all giving the same answer, you may be wrong on the incentives. That or some are dealer cash that are rolled into the selling price.
yeah i verified the 1500 is for the clean air rebate.
Just texted Carlsbad. Made a similar offer. I did ask for 5% off MSRP which seems absurd to these dealers. Lets see…
I’ll make the drive. I have this trick where when I buy a new car I call AAA and have them tow the old one back, hence no need to have anyone drive me down LOL.
