Hello everyone. Im trying to lease a 2024 KIA EV9 Wind in suburban cook county IL. (8.25% tax rate i believe)
Ive only contacted the dealership by phone and have very little info to work on. I dont know if this is a good deal or not, but it seams like every dealership around chicago (suburbs and city) thinks they’re selling gold off their lots not autos.
I told the salesman i was looking for a 3yr, 30k lease with nothing down other than taxes, fees, title etc.
He sent me the following 3 pics. Is it me or is there something fishy with the taxes listed on one pic?
Also, I dont understand almost anything on the page with the purchase price. Can anyone take a look at this stuff and tell me if the math, maths?
mediocre discount and 24 month programs are better
Elgin Kia gave one of my friend a quote for $595 with 4k DAS including first month for 24/10k for GT Line 76.5k car. It’s a shame he decided to pass on that.
Do you think they’d be willing to give that deal to someone else, like maybe me?
I don’t see why not. All my friend did was used their website and requested quote. For that quote discount was mere 4.8%. Low MF and 13.8k rebate (available for all) was there at that time.
YMMV, but it’s worth giving the try.
I was trying to hack an EV9 deal here last month and got nowhere. You can save 1% in tax going outside of Cook County (just got a Dodge in Kenosha and it was 7.25%). I’m waiting until mid-December before trying to do anything again. I think the pressure will be on and more dealers will start cutting deals. My guess is that I probably end up with an XC90 PHEV. The Volvo dealers seem more pliable.
Tax is based on your registration address. If they undercharged you, you should expect that to be corrected.
I’ve paid 8.25% and 7.25% on previous deals and none have ever come back for that.
In NJ I got a Land trim with trailer hitch (not the tow package) for $625/mo with only first month payment at dealer
Not sure of local market, and this was a few months ago, but I’d be looking for $0 DAS or at most first month DAS.
EDIT: Just recalled that I did my deal when we had 0 sales tax on EVs. Not a fair comparison on my part
Yeah, my friend’s deal had 8.25% suburban cook county taxes.
