So l have a 2019 Honda Accord my lease is over in sept l went to multiple dealers they all wanted to charge me over 1k to have me keep my car one honda dealer was straight forward gave me 4.9 apr without the 1k fee or take the 1k fee and get 2.9 they said that no dealership would do it for free they had to make money so they were going to do it with the financing. Honda isn’t allowing anyone to buyout their cars from the lease unless u go to Honda first so these clowns are trying to make a buck. I’m refinancing in a month or two with my bank but be careful

You sure about that? I bought out my honda lease without issue about 2 months ago. They stopped allowing 3rd party buyouts, but I haven’t seen any mention of restrictions on buying the lease out directly through the HFS portal.

Unless it is region specific but I have not heard any information about having to go through a dealer.

I was struggling to buyout my lease so l ended up do it at the dealership never called hfs😒
Don’t even need to call them. Just go on the website and you can process it all there.
Unfortunately, if you ask a dealer to be involved in a transaction that they have no need to be involved in, they’re going to try to add fees, etc to make it worth their effort.

Well, lessoned learned, there were many posts of this recently, and well you fell for the Dealer spiel. It’s like paying for Brake Fluid Flush…you didn’t have to but they really told you how it’s important.
That’s actually a useful thing to do far more often than most people do.

They all are…but asking me to do it every oil change? Nah.
i just did mine through the same website you make your monthly payments, i know theres alot of different links there but one of them woulda self guided you through the process.
