Jeep GC Recall parts unavailable, dealer has car

, ,

Random question, a close friend of mine has a Jeep Grand Cherokee and it currently has a recall. The dealer has the car and the parts are unavailable and they have no answers or timetable. She wants to know what are her options as far as the lease is concerned. They gave her a rental and won’t let her drive her vehicle.

after 30 days? Time to call a lemon law laywer(They don’t cost you anything btw)

is this the new U-Joint recall? My JCL is also affected. :slightly_frowning_face:

Is that the steering wheel issue.

Her words
“Started the lease in November. The recall is for loss of steering and they immediately said they are not letting me drive it and provided the rental”.

Yup sounds like same recall, faulty u-joint can cause loss of steering.

Did they actually perform the inspection? Im yet to here of a vehicle that actually needed the parts replaced. Hopefully they arent holding it because the computer says the parts arent available and havent even looked at it.
