Jeep GC Limited

,

I got the below from the dealer in NJ. Feel like the dealer discount can be bigger:

Mrsp: 44,590
Affiliate Price: 42,812
Additional $ off: -400
rebates: -4,750
net sales price: 37,662

residual: 49%
MF: .00002 Chrysler Cap
42 months/10k per year
$2k down
Payment: $396 per month, includes tax and DMV

Additional Costs:

525 doc fee
311 dmv
85 title

Sounds like you need to read Leasing 101…never put money down on a lease.

  • your pre-incentive discount is horrible…4% (aim for 10%)
  • did you verify RV and MF from edmunds? seems legit just double check
-42 month lease on an FCA product is sketchy, wouldn’t want any of their cars out of warranty. Check to see if RV and MF is better for 36 months.

You might just want to reach out to @Cars4Us if you are in Jersey and looking at a Grand Cherokee.

Or maybe look at other models

FWIW I’m currently looking for a GC Limited as well. Dealers are playing the lack of inventory card hard even though 2021 redesign is coming. I’ve contacted about 10-15 dealers and best discount I’ve gotten is ~5% so far. Could be the region I’m in not helping at all either.

Cast a wide net, I would say 200 mile radius and check all dealers, see their inventory and maybe go for aged inventory if you find anything appealing. Use CarGurus to check on that and see if any dealers bite. Not all dealers inventory is posted on their though so I would cross check a list of dealers in a 200 mile radius versus the dealers represented on CarGurus

Yeah, sorry gone as far as Virginia. They all the same. No volume bonus from Chrysler so they not discounting much. Twice have had loaners trying to sell them at invoice. Especially with huge rebates they simply playing the monthly payment game. Inventory is limited and most dealers are at limited staff too.

I think the deals w/ US Bank are better right now and they are offering IDL. I am in NJ and have qualified for the following rebates for a JGC Limited via Us Bank;

2020 IDL Bonus Cash LLA $4250
NorthEast BC Conquest $500
2020 Lease Cash 32LL1 $2250
2020 NorthEast BC Lease Bonus Cash NELLC $1000

Total Rebate: $8000

But getting more then 4% off MSRP pre-incentive is a victory right now.

What was the RV and MF with US Bank?
And how did you get there Rebate info?

Yes, I’ve checked every dealer through CarGurus and their website in about a 150 mile radius and messaged the ones that have the Limited trim in stock. Will keep trying!

I got the rebate info from Rodo and then confirmed it with the offering dealer. US Bank does not make finding the MF easy, I only have the RVs at 10K a year

24mo 61%
36mo 53%
48mo 46%

Not sure if you’re a penfed member but I recently saw an additional $1k off Jeeps and Volvo’s in bonus cash…

Might be worth it

This is the best offer I’ve gotten so far with minimal negotiating. .00019 MF and 53% RV per Edmunds on 36 mo/10k.

$459/mo with first month DAS. Only 4.6% dealer discount.

This is almost completely irrelevant but I bought one these almost two years ago to the day. I got an 8% discount off MSRP and $6k rebates which was only about $500 less then the first price they gave me. Now the reason this is completely irrelevant is that dealer had 116 Grand Cherokees on the lot that day. They had so many that when the one I wanted with all the exact configurations had the check engine light on, they had an identical one. That dealer today has 25 on the lot, so I think there is some truth to the low inventory. The brand new model being on the horizon will have no impact because there is still going to be an entire model year in between (2021). These dealers are going to have to wait a full year to even get a few of those on their lot and 2 years to have a sizable inventory of them. You can only expect this to matter while they are overlapping.

Fair points, I certainly don’t doubt their inventory levels are very low. In my 100-150 mile radius I counted 68 Limited trims in stock with 79 in transit at all the various dealers. One dealer claimed that 2021’s will start arriving by the end of the year but who really knows for sure. All feels like just the nature of the beast and unfortunately the ideal 7-10% discount may be a pipe dream.

Until chrysler offers volume bonus those discounts will not be easy to come by.

I’m with you about the 42 month lease. I just had a 6 month old Durango go back because it was a lemon
