Jeep GC 4xe - LH calculator vs dealer discrepancy

I’m about to pull the trigger on a pretty great 24 months deal on a Grand Cherokee 4xe from a local dealer. Can an advanced hacker explain why there might be a $21 difference in monthly payments between the dealer and LH calculator? Thanks so much!

Great deal. Base + Tow package?

The residual is different in my region (1% less) but that number lines up between your calc and their sheet. Not sure if it’s how they are treating taxes or they are including government fees where you have a 0 in the calc.

Yes to base and tow :wink: The sales tax seems correct (5.5%). And the only gov fees we pay in Maine is $34 which he has listed as part of first month payment.

Figured it out - his sales tax was off by like $800. “Computer issue”. Lease dropped to $290 which is below the LH calculator. Signing tomorrow :slight_smile:

What is the additional$1695 in cap cost for?

I have a 2022 JGC 4xe lease ending this month. Can’t wait to get rid of it.

The residuals aren’t regional. 53% is the correct residual for Maine on a 12k lease.

They’re either structuring this as a 10k mile per year lease, which is 54%, or they pulled the CCAP rv on accident. (or the calculator had the rv added manually without correcting the miles per year to 10k).

Yes will be interesting to see if they notice their mistake or not? I’m guessing they will.

I don’t love the car either, but it’s ok. Had it as a rental a few times. It is genuinely a great deal for basically a large ICE car. It’s replacing a 2022 Chevy Trailblazer, so not a very high bar to cross …

Yeah, for the price you are paying I could live with it for another 3 years again. I have been averaging close to 29 MPG lately on a mix of gas and electric. I have the base model, and it does not really handle well. It might be better with the air suspension in the Overland and higher trims. Just be aware that you will probably have the vehicle go into FORM during the winter in Nebraska unless you can regularly get it up to temperature for at least 20 miles or so. Somewhat annoying but easily fixed with a little high RPM driving in manual mode to get the engine temperature above 194F.

Based on the dealer worksheet and assuming the Maine sales tax rate is 5.5%, the total sales tax should be…

Tax = 5.50% x (24 x 244.65 + 14950) = 1145.19

The base payment is actually 244.65. The adj. cap must be reduced by the 2012.68 capped tax to compute the 244.65 base.

The dealer is way off.

EDIT: The monthly payment, after the 1145.19 tax is capped, amounts to 292.38.
