âDEIâ does not come across in this ad at all. It screams Vogue Spring 2025. Just because it looks weird to you doesnât mean itâs âDEIâ
Land Rover offers a spectrum of product to compete at varying levels. I wouldnât speculate on their true competitor based off one product line just as I wouldnât speculate Audi to be truly competing with Porsche or Lotus just because they made an R8.
Iâm not speculating about anything nor do I actually care about their competitors. Iâm challenging a blanket statement made above, trying to get him to back up his claim, which he clearly pulled out of thin air.
It seems as though you care much more than I. There is no point in attempting discussion with someone who was already manipulating what was said.
Iâll consider fiddling with you after I finish counting the blades of grass on the front lawn.
I think itâs clear you pulled a claim out of your ass and therefore canât answer a simple question to validate what you stated. Nothing complicated or manipulative about what I asked. Your artful dodging proves my point though.
Back to Jagwire please.
Jaguar was cooked the moment that the new senior leadership decided to come to market with a traditional 3-sedan lineup (XJ, XF, XE) with an F-pace and F-type on the side.
This was a good decade or so after BMW and MB, the dominant leaders of the luxury sedan market, saw the writing on the wall and decided to invest in new N. American factories to produce SUVs.
hey the espresso makers sold out pretty quickly
buddy messaged me seeing this ad and said he might have to sell his Ftype he just bought if this is the direction company is going in. I told him to relax lmao just marketing
would be a dream
This had to be a marketing campaign set in motion when they were banking on four more years.
In a few months we will see kid rock and hulk hogan draped in American flags shooting guns out of an Ftype.
I actually lolâd at this
theyâre cominâ out with the red-white-and-bluetype
CNN, just now: "Did Jaguar just âBud Lightâ itself?â
I guess I donât understand why the hate on the perception of DEI in the ad? Is that really the problem or just that thereâs no mention of cars and the pastel color palette itself has been overused by brands seeking to convince people theyâve different now? Jaguar leadership is still 90% white male.
How can I post?
I thought the ad was weird at first but I didnât even consider the DEI angle until coming here. Just seemed like some weird vaguely 1980s androgynous fashion stuff I didnât understand.
I guess I am not tuned in enough to know when something is DEI? Fortunately no one is paying me to make ads for them.
Edit - This is what my mind went to. Perhaps itâs all about perspective. If you look for DEI you find it. If you look for a sledgehammer connection you find it.
I found the ad ironic. Copy nothing, yet here they are copying a common marketing trope thatâs been prevalent for two decades now.
