I’m currently leasing a 2023 IX M 60 and am happy with the car. My lease is up in May And I’m thinking another IX vs. a Lucid Gravity. I’m not seeing many IX M70s in inventory and would like to see and sit in one before I settle on it. I think the seat bolstering is different than in my current car. Are the M70s an order only car?

Dang was thinking this was gonna be an interesting crash video or etc

Yep I was expecting an iX falling out of a plane or something.

Ha! That never occurred to me but I see what you mean

I think the Multi Function seats are available on all 2026 models. So if you sit in a iX45 or iX60 you can get a sense of the seats. The M70 is just more power.

I think the M70 seat bolster is different. Having owned a very uncomfortable X3M, I want to be sure that is not the case

I’ll try to dig up some links. I’m pretty sure the M is just aesthetic, but otherwise the are the same shaped seats across the 2026 iX product line.

I’m sure you’ve seen this article by BMW Blog about the iX M70.

He specifically calls out the seats as an important upgrade to the iX M70 from the previous generation iX M60. This is slightly ambiguous but what he means is that the entire iX lineup for 2026 has the improved seats, not just the M70. (There is no “M60 for 2026, it’s called the xDrive iX60, so that might also be confusing.)

You can actually confirm this by using the configurator on the BMWUSA website. You’ll notice there’s no difference in seats between the iX45, iX60, and the M70 for 2026 models. BMW has improved them across the board!!

Thanks.

Does anyone here know if the M70 is something I’m likely to find in inventory at some point?

I really like the Lucid but the software issues scare me.

You can use cars.com and search for BMW M70’s in your area.

I just searched in my area (Los Angeles), and there’s only 8 within 250 miles.

Seems like a custom order is your best bet!
