I currently have a 2015 c300 30k miles 36 months P1

Current miles 34500 (over about 4500 miles) $1125
Last payment Nov 6, 2018
Turn in car Dec 6, 2018
My credit is 750, never late with MB and this will be my 3rd purchase MB Loan if I decide to stay.
the MF was .000040
This is one of the offers I received from AutoNation
Is there a way for me to be in the $300 or $400s?
That’s the thing. The more I think about it the more I just want to drive me car as least as possible and pay my over mileage and just start off fresh…
After estimating my mileage, Ill have to pay about 2k in August. for overage. and Benz could pay off the remaining 3 months.
I found this site, hoping to learn as much as I can.
If you continue to lease and continue the same driving pattern I suggest getting 15k miles a year because at 12k you’ll still be over on miles. Also you’re never going to have a reasonable payment if you continue to roll negative equity into the new lease. I know it’s really never discussed here and the card will be discontinued in January 2019 but the Amex platinum Mercedes co branded card allows a waiver of up to 2000 miles which could help you’re save $500 but remember this card has annual fee of 550 so only consider if you were looking into or have a current Amex platinum.
Will the card still be active after its discontinued? Yes, I am sick of rolling in payments. When I worked out the numbers, I noticed that I was a little over 12k miles a year and that was me driving my car without thinking of mileage. I drove it to Orlando and Tampa with in the three years and I am from Miami. Maybe I would not be over mileage… Bad move on my part.
I guess, if I decide to stay with benz, I could keep the car until August and PAY my over mileage and MB will pay the remaining 3 months. This will allow me not to go in the deal with over mileage.
I cant think of a car that I like… I was thinking of changing brands; but I dont like the Accord (its to long), A car broker was trying to get me in the Q50 (not sure about, seems huge when I test drove it). I think the Camry has to much going on. My husband already has a BMW. I do like the 430coupe, but… hmmm makes no sense to have 2 BMW’s. So that is why I was thinking to just stick with the c300.
Any suggestions on cars?
Do you think its better that I pay my overage in mileage in August and have the MB pay the last 3 months.
I never heard of the Guila, but i googled after Vhooloo mentioned it. HMMM looks nice.!
I know Mercedes sometimes does a 5 month pull ahead. I’m from Miami as well and we do a ton of driving so if you know you’ll be over 12k miles as it is why would you sign up for that amount. You’ll always be paying overage on miles so that low payment you get now will not be that great if you do the math including all your overages. The card will most likely be changed into a regular Amex platinum once they discontinue it but I don’t suggest it unless you were actually considering getting that card. Also in Florida we have outrageous inception costs especially at some local Mercedes dealers so if you’re up to it try looking out of state because savings could be huge. Dealer fees here range from $799 to $1095 and since this is a big market and the cars sell themselves they don’t care to lower much. The c300 competitors in size are the 3 series, Gulia, Q50, A4, IS300, and XE. Some are leasing well now others not so much. You can also take your car into car max and see what they offer you, you might have some equity in the vehicle that can offset the over mileage costs but chances are slim but who knows what they offer you. I hope this helps.
I will start looking else where and I will take my car to car max as well and see what it’s worth. The amount of my pay off is the residual amount right?,I think that amount is in the mid 30’s. I notice that people in California get awesome deals… The C300 was my first lease. I didn’t do my homework and didn’t realize 10k miles is unheard of leaving in miami.now that I calcuLate it, I think 12k is pushing it and 15k would give me the left over mileage; at least I won’t be negative. So I will look into 15k and see if I can get a better deal upfront. Now I’m driving about 20 miles A day during the week and on the weeks I’m driving like 10 miles. I work 2 miles from my house.
There’s actually great value to the card if you can meet the $5,000 spend bonus and have a use for membership rewards. I’ve already had it years ago but the little woman has not. If you can swing two bonuses at once you can apply the Schwab Platinum as well and cash out at 1.25c/point as well as enjoy the airline credits, lounge access and uber credits which can be used for Uber eats.
Apply for the card today, spend $5k in a short time. It earns you 60k MR points (with some decent redemption options which would more than cover annual fee), allows forgiveness of some miles at lease end and allows you to earn a $1000 silver star cert to use if you lease another MB.
Currently no active links on the credit card. I thought it was a good option on helping to reduce cost of overage miles. I wonder if Mercedes Benz is moving their credit card business to another issuer.
Yeah, you have to wonder. If they move anywhere else, doesn’t that reduce their prestige? Especially if they go to someone like Synchrony who has dozens of other affiliates like Infiniti and BP.
It may or may not reduce the prestige if they issue with a bank like Chase that has been gaining on Amex and plucking customers with their new offerings. Also who knows there’s a lot of issuers that are trying to upgrade their cards I.e. BOA, Citi, Barclays. Or they may not have a new card in the works because usually lenders try to sell their portfolio of customers to the new lender.
