Would to love to know if what I’m looking at here is a decent offer. I’m turning in my lease '21 GLC 300 coupe in NJ and looking at this 2025 GLE 53 AMG coupe .
1st month’s payment is due 1499 (was 1598), 0 money down. 48 mo / 7.5k. 2k loyalty, 500 employer bonus.
The money factor is equivalent to 7.5%. I checked rate finder and I’m not that far off, though I don’t think I’m close to the base MF. My credit score is 800+.
Well, it has a smiley face. Probably to distract from a TCO close to $80K over 48 months. Hard to recommend this lease program under any situation, but payment seems high compared to offers in Marketplace
I can’t believe they put an AMG badge on this thing with only 429hp. The X5 50e has almost 500 and is almost a second faster to 60 and starts at $5k less. 1500/m? 500/m would be too much lol.
This is the type of car that if you really want it, you’re probably better off financing it. It’s in your interest to do the math on financing the discounted selling price you’d be leasing at, with all applicable incentives in each case, and see what makes the most sense. I think you’ll find you’d be paying the total cost of financing (including any down payment) in lease costs within around 6 years, which is not good.
Edit:
Looks much better as a loan, but that’s all relative. These numbers are pretty gross in either case.
This is not a question to be answered by a dealer.
Going and asking these questions of a dealer is setting yourself up for failure. If you ever find yourself with a dealer quote in front of you, wondering if it is a good deal, you have done yourself a huge disservice.
There is no rational reason to be talking numbers eith a dealer without already knowing what they should be. How can you possibly negotiate a deal effectively if you don’t know where you’re trying to get to?
Delete this dealer’s number from your phone and address from your GPS. Youve already poisoned the well by presenting yourself as an uninformed customer to be squeezed dry.
Take the time to establish a well-researched target deal and then start over with a new dealer. Doing otherwise is going to cost you thousands and thousands of dollars.
No need to bring negative bullshit, I thought thus forum was for finding help, when you don’t have the knowledge, but it’s clearly not based on a few comments here. It’s just a forum where fucking trolls hide apparently.
And I don’t got the time for energy any this, I’ve got a life to live , so you can fuck all the way off… a cliff preferably.
For those that have commented something useful. I appreciate what you’ve said.
If you took that as negative bullshit, you missed the point. You’re going into the lion’s den and asking them what’s for dinner currently. That isn’t a personal attack, it is just what you’re currently doing. It’s what most people do and it can’t be understated how much that approach is putting you in a position to be taken advantage of.
Effectively negotiating a strong deal isn’t difficult, but the foundation of being able to be effective is to remove the information gap that allows dealers to control the conversation. They have a financial incentive to keep you in the dark and make sales pitches that benefit them. The only way to combat that is to go in from moment one on an even playing field.
The fact that a GLS63 which is 150k and an X7 M60i which starts at 110k is competitive is embarrassing for AMG. 0-60 is close (0.2 seconds), braking distance is close (2 feet from 70 MPH), 1/4 mile is 0.3 seconds difference. I fully accept my x7 isn’t a true M but the fact remains that it’s competitive with Full blooded hand built AMGs. And it completely destroys AMG LItes like the 53s
Pretty sure he already set himself up for failure. If I had to guess, dealer asked what price he felt comfortable at. He said “$1500”, so they put it at $1499 to make it seem like a deal. Oh and the smiley face of course.
Imo the GLS580 comps with a X7 M60… the GLS63 is just a flex for people like @djrabbi and @armic777 .
Worth a watch.
Like the reviewers above, My wife likes the more car-like feel of a GLS. It hides it weight well. There’s another @li8625 ’s momma joke in there somewhere.
