A friend just ordered a 10/36 2020 X5 MRSP $70,600 and got it at $757 + tax. And 2020 has a lower RV(56%)
Demos, the one I referenced was $67kish. It isn’t mine anyways and will be returned at some point, I don’t care if they aren’t new.
They can be found for strong numbers if you know how to negotiate with a dealer.
I’m also in the NE, a lot of competition here, might be harder if you’re in a small market.
I like the X5, particularly the split tailgate but I do find it just a tad large for daily driving. Great road trip car but X3 (especially M40i) is a lot more nimble.
I found dealers are more willing to work on cars with MSRP around $66-68k because most of the decently optioned X5 will run $70-72k and seem to have more dedicated customer base that is willing to pay for the packages in lieu of custom ordering. $2500 due at signing with $600/month is a great deal regardless.
My goal for December is to hack an X7 as a DD. I also live in NYC which makes the ultra large X7 not very practical. But the wife wants a big SUV, even though it is idiotic for us.

Yeah…X7 is neat and definitely has a command presence on the road but even in MSport trim it’s a hateful drive as far as handling goes unless you’re coming from something like a Suburban or Expedition. Definitely go for the 50i if you’re grabbing one, 40i has trouble getting out of its own way.
I have conquest, an OL code, and graduating from an MBA program in December, so I have an extra $1,500 in incentives that a lot of others might not, so that could save me $45ish a month, just to be direct.
The best BMW unicorn deals typically have a bunch of incentives stacked.
With that, I’m off to study for a midterm tonight, awesome Friday night! Earning that incentive!!
I second the split tailgate. I like it a lot and it’s a big factor for me, surprised more people don’t bring that up. The only other SUV I can think of that has it is the RR. Q7, Q8, Bentayga, Mercedes and others don’t have it.
