Is this a good deal ....? 2018 Acura MDX

I don’t have all of the data points needed for an accurate interpretation, but on a more basic level does this sound like a deal worth pursuing?

2018
Acura MDX
Base model YD3H3JJNW
MSRP $45,195
Discount $4,312
Term 36 months
12,000 miles / year
Monthly payment $305.70 + tax
Down payment $2,999
Dealer Fee $799
Tag transfer $200
FL Fee $60
Bank/acquisition fee included

I am quite serious about moving forward with this deal this week, but would like some expert opinion before. Thanks.

Did they give you the Money Factor/Rent Charge?

That downpayment is high. Ask them for a break down

With the new 2019 out, you should do better - ask for $0 DAS.

According to edmunds forums, Acura is still offereing $2050 in lease incentives on the base MDX. Ask them to take another $2050 off the selling price. It should be pretty easy to do. I just looked up trucar in my area, and they’re offering about $4000 off MSRP.

I just took the truecar certificate to my local dealer, and then asked for the lease incentive on top of that. There was about 2-3 minutes of him trying to tell me that the truecar price includes the lease incentives, me gathering my things to get ready to leave, and then him going to “talk to his manager” for couple of minutes to get the lease discount on top of the truecar price.

Great info, thank you for that. I’ll try to get the same deal but with $1000 down instead of the $3000. If you know where I can get a printout of the $2050 lease incentive it would help me a great deal in the negotiation.

I’m not sure where you would get a print out, but there are couple of guys on the edmunds forums for 2018 MDX Lease where you just ask them for the MF and incentives for your zip code, and they will post it for you.

According to autoleasefinder.net a 2018 base MDX (FWD) MF through Acura Financial is .00035 and a 56% residual for 36/12k lease.

Guys, I’m hoping you can help me out as well. I’ve got a TLX with 15k miles left on it and looking to roll it into an MDX. Here is what they offered:

MSRP: $45,195
Sell Price: $40,000 (they said there is Acura money in the discount)
Down payment: $700 first payment and transfer fees
Residual 57%
Money Factor: .0002500
Miles: 7,500 per year (we add 15k on top)
Payment $462.32

The car is a demo and has 2,285 miles on it. Wasn’t sure how to factor that in.
I see there is $2,050 in lease incentives (if still available) so that’s really only as discount of 5.4% I’m coming up with off MSRP. I think that should be more, especially since it’s a demo.

This an '18? Tax on the payment? TMV on this vehicle brand new is $41278. Take off the $2050 incentive on the base trim and you have $39228. Not awful but not great. I would shoot for a 15-17% discount off the vehicle including the incentive, around $38400-37500. Taking into account the mileage I would shoot for the low end.

I have a 2018 MDX Tech I negotiated down to $41000. MSRP is $49595. My payment would have been $431 plus tax. Didn’t take the deal however.

Yes, it’s an 18. I came up with the payment, and it included tax. I’ll make sure they match up before I sign.

Update: They just came back at $38,500 so I’m pretty sure I can get them to $37,500.

Question: Is that the out the door total price I should shoot for? Or expect to make the first payment and lease / transfer fees on top of that? They said $700 last time when it was 40k. I do not have a breakdown, but assume it’s the lease fee, plate transfer fee and 1 payment…

Or am I looking for $37,500 done deal?

Thanks for the help, much appreciated.

Now this is just a real quick lease calculation and I don’t know your sales tax situation. If you come in at $37500.00, with acquisition fee and dealer docs, your adjusted cap is $38894.00

I used 7% tax added to the monthly payment. Breakdown is below, with first payment and DMV fees due at signing. I never ever advise to put any money down on a lease. Watch out for any add-ons the dealer wants to force on you.

Disclaimer: I use this lease calculator as a quick method. It’s most always off a few dollars. Not $10, but a few. LOL

MSRP: 45195

Base Cap Cost: 37500

Cost Added to Lease: 1394

Cap Cost Reductions: 0

Net Cap Cost: 38894

Residual Amount: 25761

Money Factor: 0.000250

Lease Term: 36

Lease Payment: $380.97

Monthly Sales Tax: 26.67

Total Monthly Payment: $407.64

Thanks for doing that for me. I’m having trouble with these numbers though.

I used the Ride w G Lease calculator and come up with totally different numbers.

I think I’m confused, which is incredible because I only really need 2 numbers. The rest of the variables are layed out. The only number on the calculator that are not obvious to me are the “sales price” and “fees rolled in” Sales Price is not the 37,500 I assume, it’s something great as the fees are rolled on top.

I’m in FL with 6% tax.

I’m using:

$45,195 MSRP
$37,500 Sales Price
Residual 57%
MF .00025
7,500 Miles
36 months
6% sales tax

What are you coming up for a payment? Don’t forget, you have 2 fees. Lease acquisition fee and dealer doc fee. Upfront I always pay DMV fees and first payment, that’s it.

Wow. This is a great deal. I just checked with my local acura dealer about leasing 2018 mdx a d they quoted 420$ per month for 10k miles and 3yrs for base model!! How did you manage to get deal for 300$ and where was this?

He has 3K down so his effective payment is about 400.
