Is this a deal? 20% off 2022 jeep limited compass

,

Received email from dealer for 20% off remaining stock of 2022 jeep compass. After search seems like a lot off dealers are trying to get these off there lots.

That is a great deal before even asking for more, but do you actually intend on driving it?

Unfortunately it’s a Jeep Compass, was never worth $41k to begin with.

Lol, my wife is getting tired of my toys.(Camaro & wrangler 4xe) I wasn’t looking but Camaro will be gone end of year so e-mail got me thinking.

This is how you know it isn’t a good deal. They don’t email out good deals.

They sent you a break down of incentives with an at msrp selling price on a last year model pre-refresh.

That’s a long time. I don’t see any compelling reason to jump on something like a Compass now.

The idea of a Compass at $41k makes me hurl. That MSRP was made up precisely so that dealers could advertise a big discount and still rip people off.

I leased a ‘22 Compass last year as an early adopter. One month into the lease, the front axle sheared off and it spent 3 months in the shop waiting for parts. The day after it was fixed, I sold it to Echo Park. While it was inconclusive what caused the axle to break, the biggest detractor was its performance… sluggish! Hopefully the 2023 with the turbo four will be an improvement.

I think of the Compass as “oh your credit wasn’t good enough for the Cherokee, follow me! It looks just like a Cherokee.” After that they walk you over to the Renegade, a fine Fiat based product.

I get that this is a forum for deals and such, but I’d definitely go sit in and drive around one of these things before considering it at any price. You may also want to consider pushing it off a bridge or over a cliff while yelling “I’ll see you in hell, trash mobile!”

Sometimes I forget how great I am. I am still around and being a knucklehead, leading a team of knuckleheads. I believe the the book written by Michael Gary Scott, Somehow I manage comes to mind.
