The residual on my 2016 Forester is $16,765 (plus tax) if I decide to purchase.
Will Chase give the dealer a different number than the one above when they call about buying it out as a trade in? I’ve tried asking Chase for the dealer buyout number, but they won’t give it to me.
See if the Subaru dealer will give you a straight answer. If the Subaru dealer pays it off and sells it to you, how much will they mark up the price? Can they make it a CPO and sell it to you? How much does that add?
Look up trade in on kbb, get a quote from carvana, vroom and ask the dealer for some equity on top of buy out, if you want to trade and buy a new car from them.
@user4815 - you need to find out what the car is worth. Look at kbb.com trade in value (their number will probably be high), and contact Carvana and Vroom for their bids. If the value is $14,000 for example, there’s no meat on the bone, even if a Subaru dealer gets a preferred payoff. You could call a few dealers and ask the sales manager if they get a preferred payoff vs the lessee.
@Michael_Reiter - if Chase won’t give a preferred dealer payoff, why would calling them help? Or do you know Chase doesn’t do that?
