I have a friend whose Mazda lease is shortly expiring on a cx5. Can he sell this to Mazda dealer for some equity or to third party ?

I sold my Mazda to CarMax two days ago.

Depends on the bank? Mazda Financial used to be Chase and now it’s run by Toyota Financial. Could even be a third party bank like USB or Ally.

I sold a 2020 CX5 (leased through Toyota Financial) to Carmax a few weeks ago with no issues.
