Is Kia doing open ended leases. Found this troubling clause

Just found this clause in the Kia offers. This sounds very scary and I wonder how many people are going to get absolutely hosed.

“An extra charge may be imposed at the end of the lease term where the lessee’s liability (if any) is based on the difference between the residual value of the leased property and its realized value at the end of the lease term”

Be sure to specify your location when asking for input on a deal! Tagging by state (e.g. CA, NJ, NY, usa-nationwide) is mandatory.

There is no binding language in kia offers.

There are dealers that use generic boilerplate language in their advertisements that dont differentiate between a lease going to term and a lease early terminating.

This is on the Kia website under terms for the lease offer

I just signed a kia lease a couple momths ago and don’t have anything like this in my lease contract, which is the only thing that matters.

100% sure? Hope so

Yes, 100% sure. I actually read the contracts before I sign them and I just pulled it out and read it again. There is no language in the lease that would allow for that at scheduled lease end.

Mine is a FL lease, from May.
