Is 2025 the Year of the Mass Market Sedan?

Just saw a 2025 K5 EX in person. WOW it looks good!

Last week I got to see the almost 50 mpg Camry XLE and that looked amazing as well.

The Hyundai Sonata Limited Hybrid is another almost 50mpg Mass market sedan that looks amazing.

What do you guys think is the best mass market Sedan right now? I have no idea how to rank those 3

I can’t remember when there were this many really good choices in this segment. At this point you can just shop for the best deal and be “stuck” with a really good car.

Americans getting sedans? Lol

I think the Sonata looks hideous myself.

I thought the Maxima was a really good looking sedan. Of course Nissan had to discountinue it.

I should have specified, the interiors on these cars is what stood out to me. And the almost 50 mpg is pretty impressive.

Camry has been selling pretty well for me for sure. I’m also 1k under invoice so that def helps…50mpg is very impressive but I still don’t think Americans well switch to sedans. They’re still not that much cheaper than their fake suv crossovers.

The yuuutes aren’t having kids anymore. So there may be a shift away from crossovers and SUVs because the need to haul a family of 4/5 will go away. Of course this is a long term trend, 10, 20 years.

Single people still take the rav over the Camry most of the time

Not a fan of both K5 & Sonata. I prefer 2018-2024 camry exterior (especially the XSE). The new one looks just like Prius. It’s great on prius, not so on camry.

Honestly i think most people now just like sitting high up

I don’t see the Prius in it, good slope is similar that’s about it. Prius looks like a model 3, pretty sure that’s what they were going for

The current-generation Civics and Accords are dreadfully boring to look at.

The front part and the headlight are identical except for the lower grill. IMHO, it looks great on prius to disguise it as hot hatchback but not so on camry as a family sedan.

The 2018-2024 is the best camry design IMHO, it looks sporty while still maintaining its camry identity.

compare to the new one. I’m not saying it’s bad. It is sporty & attractive for sure, it’s just different than what camry should look like.

Nevertheless, I can say toyota current design is no longer boring & looks more sporty than Honda or Mazda.

the 25 interior is leaps and bounds nicer than the 24. I they are on the same platform though

It’s definitely a great time for the sedan market with so many strong contenders! Between the 2025 K5 EX, Camry XLE, and Sonata Limited Hybrid, you’ve got a mix of style, efficiency, and advanced features. Personally, I’d prioritize fuel efficiency and tech, so I might lean towards the Camry for its balance of both. However, the K5 EX is hard to beat if you’re looking for cutting-edge design. It really comes down to what your specific priorities are—fuel efficiency, tech features, driving dynamics, or design. Test driving all three could be your best bet to see which one feels right for you.

Still 1k under invoice in so cal with any heavy metal?

Can ship it there for 800 or so. Text for quotes

Indeed they are, and even use some of the same panels throughout the car. Like you said though, its the interior that sells it - its not even close.

Isn’t MPG the most important thing for Prius buyers? Why do they want massive rims?

Have to upgrade some stuff to charge 4k more for an xse I guess
