I am being offered a 36 months lease for a Hyundai IONIQ SEL - 68.8K MSRP in the DFW area at a $421 per month with $4K down and a 12K miles annual limit. Is this a good deal? Should I take it?

I’m being offered a 2627 off MSRP, 17,250 manufacturer incentive, and almost 4000 state taxes paid by the dealer.

This is my attempt at modeling in the calculator - very close to what’s being offered. I’ve been going back and forth trying to increase the % off MSRP to 6% but they are not budging.

Is there room for more negotiation?

Do you mean you’re getting a sales tax credit? If so, I still think there is a sales tax of ~1% in TX?

What kind of discounts have you seen on the Ioniq 9 SEL in the Marketplace and in Signed Deals & Tips?

That’s right - they are offering sales tax credit but I’m not clear if I’m still paying the 1% - they haven’t shared a detailed doc yet. There’s not a lot of data on Marketplace or Signed Deals and Tips for this specific model unfortunately - thank you

I think you have a really good deal as is, but see if they will go to 5% discount. If not, take the deal if this is truly the vehicle you want.

Under 4% discount looks quite mediocre to me.

I would push for a good bit more personally.

hyundai silver is literally register an account for $250 if I’m not mistaken, then try refresh the Hyundai website for $500 private cash.

Honestly this a good deal, dealer didn’t tack on anything, honored base rate, give you sales tax credit right away. There might be a bit more meat left on the bone but it’s objectively a lot of car per $.

I’d just roll the $4000 and make it a true 0 DAS deal.

thanks everyone for the valuable responses - quite helpful. I @FuzzyIBJ I just registered at Hyundai owners site but I need to be a current owner to get those rewards looks like. I am still pushing for a 6% off MSRP - we’ll see where it lands tomorrow :slight_smile:

update - just read online that if I register the new VIN to my Hyundai account while I purchase at the dealership, I can still apply the $250 towards lease. Will try it out if I end up buying.

I realize TX and tax credits complicate things a bit, but as Matt said, I don’t know why there is any rush to sign for this at <4% off before incentives.

When I was shopping, deals in the 4-5% range seemed to be a dime a dozen.

I ended up around 10% off pre-incentive on my limited i9, but that took some time to make happen.

I wouldn’t dwell so much on the sales tax. They’re going to pitch it to you like it’s a replacement for a dealer discount, but it isn’t coming out of their pocket.

With that said, 7% is my tax rate, but I’m in a monthly tax state, so all said, on a 24 month lease, you’re talking about something in the realm of $1300 in total sales tax paid.
