Ionic 5/EV6 lease negotiations in upstate NY

Looking to lease an ionic 5 or EV6. Most likely ionic5 long range SEL AWD. I’m in upstate NY(14445). With the current state of politics and what may come, what should my monthly goal with $1,000 or even 0 at signing? Anyone have any input. Local dealers don’t seem to want to share numbers over the phone or email which is infuriating. Going to talk to both today. The EV6 has $10K in rebate money but only for finance, not lease. No interest in buying a EV.

@AutoNinjas has some deals posted…

Also, look into an Acura ZDX deals in Marketplace unless you’re set on Hyundai or Kia

Rochester dealers do not sell a lot of EVs so the discounts are slim. Do not waste your time over there.

Set up a deal in DC or NJ with the broker , fly here down for $50 and drive it home.
Good luck.

I’m not sure about the Hondas as they are basically GM. Haven’t really looked into the ZDX much but passed on GMs offerings due to no CarPlay. I’ll see if ZDX has CarPlay and maybe look more into it.

Any suggestions for dealers to contact? This lease isn’t a need just more of a want so I’m not worried about spending time negotiating.

ZDX has Car Play :+1:

I’ll check more into them then. We love Hondas but I absolutely avoid GM anything at all costs but maybe it would be worth it.

Vision still has 35 units of I5 from 2023 MY. So you can imagine what their approach is. They think that they are seating on gold LOL.

Good luck.

Dealer said that’s the absolute best they can do. But if I shop else where and get a better deal don’t sign any papers without talking to him. Can’t stand dealers. These prices are after some negotiations. It was almost 700/month with 0 down.

Hyundai’s website shows MSRPs different from what the dealer shows which I thought was weird.

Don’t limit your search to local dealers only.

That discount is super weak. If you want to do your own negotiations look at some of the numbers from the brokers on the website. Take those exact numbers and start emailing all the dealerships in NY/NJ/PA/OH that you’re willing to drive to/from.

I need to stay within driving distance as I have a vehicle I need to trade in. We were debating on it but if this works out, the 2020 forester will be traded in.

I’m a super contributor but for some reason it won’t show be signed deals, only the calculator.

$500 discount. LOL
You are wasting your time with Your locall dealers.
I already said what i would do but you will do whatever is right for you.

I would not trade it in. Separate those two transactions. Sell it to the highest bidder.
If required bring the car down to NY and drive back with new car.

I have never seen a vehicle with a nice, round MSRP like that, so I suspect that is not the true MSRP.

He pulled up his car locator and there where 9 of them with the same $53,000 even MSRP for a Ionic5 SEL AWD within 300 miles.
