A question for those that extended their Infiniti leases recently -
Our current lease was scheduled to end in March '22. We called and got an extension to July. Our total monthly payment to-date (inclusive of taxes) has been $39x.xx. The extension confirmation letter received from Infiniti Financial services shows a monthly “rent charge” of $39x.xx plus a $4x.xx tax. Is that normal?
If you paid the taxes up front for the lease, then the lease extension will be the previous payment plus tax.
If you’ve been paying tax each month then it should not change.
With Infiniti just note that the buyout price will
Not change during the extension period.
You should call IFS and ask for an explanation
Extending an Infiniti lease is not a great idea if they don’t update your residual. Someone was complaining about that several months ago.
Is Infiniti the only company that doesn’t update the residual if you extend your lease?
For my GM lease which technically ended a week ago GM allows unapproved extensions up to 6 months. You just keep paying your same lease payment however the residual remains the same.
They will also give you an additional number of miles (1250 miles a month in my case) provided you then lease another GM vehicle at the end of the lease extension.
Extending the lease allows me to capture the unused contract miles very inexpensively.
