Increase miles on my Mercedes Lease

I am looking to increase my miles from 10k to 15k a year on my CLA 250. What sort of price increase should be expected? Here are some details about my lease currently.

Selling Price: 31,620.01
Residual: 23,939.60 (58%)
Money Factor: .00125 (3%)
Lease Terms: 36 Months/10k - $421.00 Monthly

You can’t increase the mileage once the lease is funded. Your only option is to call MB Financial and purchase additional miles at a per-mile rate. They may offer a discount for purchasing them before turn-in, but I’m not sure

If you’re on the fence about miles though, doesn’t it make sense to just go with the lesser monthly payment and pay the additional miles (per $0.15 or whatever) IF you end up going over them?

After doing the math, it seems like the additional costs would be lower than paying the additional $18 (number I was given) per month for me. If anything, I’d only anticipate going over by like 1 or 2,000 so that would be less.

Or am I completely wrong here??? Lol

Heres the thing though, I am going to hit 5k over this year. So that is already $1,250 if each mile costs $0.25. Thats why I am considering purchasing addition miles right now because I am afraid I will be charged the full amount instead of a discounted one at the end.

Your only option is to call Mercedes financial and see if they allow purchasing of pre paid miles. Report back because we aren’t sure if Mercedes does it.

Hey guys, so I’m on an E Class now and I am going over 7K miles. I have about 16 months left on the lease. I have a second car so I plan on probably driving that car, however, I did call Mercedes and they advised me that they do .25 cents per mile no matter if you buy it now or at the end of the lease. I used to drive an Audi and they would discount the miles if you purchase them earlier. They charged .25 cents and went down to .20 cents. I was pretty surprise that Mercedes doesn’t do this. Do I make another phone call and speak to a supervisor or just leave it alone? Any one gone through this?

Not all lessors offer a discount. BMW and Audi are exceptions to the norm, so I am not sure why you are surprised. BMW has made it so there is barely any discount in recent years

I guess I thought they would to keep the competition going against Audi & BMW. However, this doesn’t make me not want to lease another Mercedes. I’ll just drive other car I have. Also, have any of you done the 18K miles on a lease? is it even worth it?

you probably shouldn’t lease if you’re doing 20k miles a year. lol

If the captive only deducts RV in a way similar to going from 10k to 15, one should absolutely lease instead of buying.

Go try to sell a 3yr old E-class with 60k miles and see what you get for it.

Why? The more prudent thing to do would be calculating out how much more it will cost vs buying the car and trying to sell it in 3-5 years, and how much upside down you’ll be.
