Ideal car to lease

Hi,

I’m currently in the market to lease a car. For the past few days I have been spending time researching on what is considered a good lease vs. bad lease. My journey started on reddit and then I ended up here. After going through a good amount of useful information here, I’m glad that I landed here. Anyways, as I shift through the forum posts, I’m looking for answers to more personalized questions.

First, what kind of cars are in my budget if I’m looking for $0 out of pocket (or as close as possible) and less than $500 (<$500) per month? I’m a big fan of BMW & Mercedes (However, no BMW / Mercedes in my household in the past 12 months).

Second, does anyone recommend going through a broker who is more knowledgeable on leases?

Lastly, any local SoCal dealerships who lease loaner cars? I’m of the understanding that leasing a loaner car can get the lessee a better deal.

Another user over at reddit recommended that i wait until the start of June to see what sort of lease incentives car manufactures offer.

Much appreciated!

I’m not really sure how you feel about VW, but I leased a 2018 Tiguan S with 0 down and $199 from @rubbergash

Here is the Excel spreadsheet of what he has left and prices - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NQhqMhTXSYrH2KMIiIJZftLo2C13uOkopbqRUPB3r-I/edit#gid=242026089

They’re legit. I thought they were too good to be true, but I got exactly the deal advertised, no upsell, no pressure.

Personally, I’m not really a car guy so I can’t really tell the difference between a Mercedes and a Chevy, but the Tiguan seems really nice. My Spark EV has a lot of wind and road noise (but no engine noise), so the Tiguan feel like a luxury vehicle. I would say it rides as quiet and comfortable as my wife’s 2016 Acura MDX without all the bells and whistles.

Somehow a VW isn’t quite the same car-class as BMW or Mercedes. But you could indeed save some money on a VW. Rubbergash’s VW most expensive lease is only $402 and the least expensive is $148.
