I want a GMC Yukon Denali. Lease or buy?

,

Hello. You guys have helped me in the past. I currently lease an Audi A6. This was my 2nd lease ever and my first lease was also an Audi. I’ve had enough of Audi and my current lease expires soon. I’ve been thinking of getting a GMC Yukon Denali.

I’m kicking around whether to go for a lease or buy. I don’t know what $0 down leases are going for these days. I usually drive about 10k to 12k miles a year and I like having a new vehicle every 3 years. My Fico score is 855.

I realize buying any large SUV like this will be a lot of money either way. I’m really annoyed as I’m in Virginia and we have to pay full sales taxes whether we lease or buy (a lot of money). Not sure if that should influence anything on my decision. I’m leaning towards taking out a balloon type loan and buying one and re-selling it when I’m ready. Thoughts on buying vs leasing?

I admit I’m still learning my way around this forum as I haven’t been here in 3 years. Not sure if they are brokers that specialize in GMC Yukons. Thank you!

Yukon’s historically have been better to buy vs lease. With that being said, I believe there may be a thread on this forum that give some recommendations on credit unions/banks that will do a balloon note.

Probably the only large, body on frame SUV in this space that even remotely leases well is the Infiniti QX80.

Definitely a buy, especially in VA.

Agreed, buying these makes more sense than leasing since GM’s lease programs on their large BOF SUV’s are cheeks.

If you’re open to haggling, try to get a slightly used one that still has a bunch of warranty left. There’s an oddball Diesel for sale. If it’s a clean Carfax it may be worth looking at and trying to get more discount.

They want $87k, but there should be some room to slash.
