Hyundai lease uber money

I keep seeing people coming out with the $1000 uber cash on here. Whenever I try to use any of the offical calculators or even at the dealer they say that the uber cash cannot apply to leases.

I get this error when using a hyundai calculator thru my local dealers site. Any ideas?

Should work for both Kia and Hyundai. I think the dealership or salesperson just isn’t very knowledgeable or they’ve been misinformed.

The message that says it doesn’t work with my selection actually comes up on one of the Hyundai calculators where you select rebates at.

when i got my car they said it would apply but then when we finalized the deal they said it wouldn’t allow them to use that promotion… my monthly didnt even change tho so something was fishy with what they said.

Yea basicly the same I was told. Except I was told they could only apply it to a purchase.

Sounds like they have closed a loophole

No idea what it could have been? I look at some numbers on a sonata sports middle of April and they said the same back than. Back than it was said Hyundai won’t lease vehicles for use for Uber.

This topic is driving me nuts. I’ve posted about it in various threads. Last week I had a dealer call me and tell me you absolutely can’t do uber on a lease. He said he does tons of uber driver sales but when you go to apply the rebate on a lease the computer won’t let you. He said other dealers may be telling you it will work but when they go to apply it they won’t be able to. I had another sales person ask their manager about the rebate and after several days she got back to me and said you could use the rebate on a lease. I would love to know the truth. I wonder if those on here who report getting the rebate, what happened was the dealer found another way to get the extra 1k off. I want to get a Sonata in the next couple of months and would love to use this as it’s really the only reason I remain active on uber. I’m making it my mission to get to the bottom of this.

One of the dealers I spoke to said it was valid on a lease. A couple of years ago they were the second largest Hyundai dealer in the country, so I’d say they’re correct. The dealers that are saying NO are just wrong

I used it successfully for a Kia lease in NJ this year in April

I got my lease WITH THE UBER $1,000 discount through Lancaster Hyundai in Lancaster, PA. If you have any questions, give them a call, they obviously found a way to make it work for me. Maybe they can make it work for you as well. Not sure if it matters nut I leased mine in April. Maybe they changed the terms of the rebate but I kinda doubt it.

Ditto. I’ve seen your name pop up a dozen times on these threads, haha. It’s important we get to the bottom of it! I didn’t do it on my Genesis lease (I didn’t have time to because if I didn’t sign for it that day, I’m sure one of the salesmen would have bought it since it was such a steal) but it was offered to me. And having been a member of LH for a while, I know for certain that many users have indeed used the rebate for their Kia and Hyundai leases. A couple members have confirmed it on this thread already which is comforting. I really do think it’s just a matter of working with the right dealer - some dealers just don’t know their own rebates.

YES, please do it! I’m really confounded by this issue as well. I went through a deal to the end where they pulled the Uber discount because it wouldn’t go through their computer. Really fishy.

I’m working on it. Had another salesman tell me today you could do it and it was at the same dealer @Raven used. I am going to speak to as many sales managers and F/I guys as I can.

Sitting in kia store having deal fall through because they can’t get the uber rebate through on a lease.

Thought uber was hyundai only. Both applicable?

Kia, and some others as well.

I used the Uber coupon exactly 1 year ago for a lease of a Hyundai without a problem

I have talked to at least 10 different kia stores across the country today. All but one said the rebate can’t be applied to a lease. I even called Kia’s national number and they confirmed. One dealer did say he thought they had applied the rebate to a lease but he was not very convincing. I did speak to one Hyundai dealer who said they have done it several times. The dealer I leased my optima sxl from yesterday couldn’t do it and I genuinely believe they tried. My payment went from $231/month to around $280 on a 24 month lease. I was about to walk but they agreed to do $250/month which I felt was close enough. They ended up taking off over another $500 off the sale price taking it to over $5k off MSRP. I asked the sales manager to try to get the rebate through somehow and he agreed that he would try and have it sent to me in 6-8 weeks if he could get it through. I’m not holding my breath for that obviously. It is my opinion now that at least for Kia the uber rebate is not for a lease and if someone does manage to get it, the dealer either knows a loophole or is going to eat $1k.
