How's this Chevy Equinox Deal

Well… had really wanted a Volvo XC60 but couldn’t get anywhere close to these numbers, so we went shopping. Loving this Equinox as an alternative - and frankly has a bit more room for the fam.

Let me know how this 36MO 12K miles deal looks - Chevy Equinox Premier 2.0 LT - MSRP $42,085
Initial Cap Cost: $39,085
Total add’l Cap Costs: $650
Cash Cap Reduction: $192
Sales Tax: $1966.95
Adjusted Cap Cost: $35,241
Monthly: $394.61
Total annual fees: $700.75
Total initial fees: $167.75
Down: $2000
Residual: 54%
MF: .00081

I have no idea what these annual or initial fees are. Super hard to get them to be clear about what real drive off vs monthly vs annual fees are and not sure why this is so hard to get to.

What do you think?

Seems pretty bad to me. Get the sales price before incentives

Ok - new update. I believe initial cap cost is the sale price before incentives?

MSRP: $42,085
Initial Cap Cost: $38,085
Total add’l Cap Costs: $650
Cash Cap Reduction: $46.84
Sales Tax: $1819.13
Adjusted Cap Cost: $33,988
Monthly: $358
Total annual fees: $700.75
Total initial fees: $167.75
Down: $1800
Residual: 54%
MF: .00081

Hello mj146

May I know which dealer is this?

Thanks in Advance

Sure. Why?

Looking for the same vehicle

I think you really need to look at terrain too. That’s a really loaded up equinox and terrain SLT has higher residual and may have better incentives.

Got it. Lee Johnson Kirkland Washington.

That’s helpful - i think we prob want to just get this done and stay with the chevy - super loaded partly because only way to get to all safety features. Would you all say this is a bad deal? I’ve worked a few dealers at this point and it feels like not far from the bottom.

Thank you for sharing.

You can get literally the exact same things in Terrain with more features and a 5% higher residual. But you do you! The deal is what it is for a $42k Equinox.

If you want the safety features, you might be better off with a RAV4. Lexus RX has had some interesting deals lately and could be similarly priced

Terrain is on the same platform with a different interior and exterior. The underpinnings are virtually the same though.

I just got a Terrain last week. I qualified for the supplier discount so I ended up getting 8% off msrp and also $6250 total in rebates here on the east coast. 2019 Terrain SLE AWD msrp $35,750 for $299 a month with $1033 total due at signing. 36/12 lease

Love that except Lexus RX has no CarPlay!

Just asked. With $0 down, Lexus RX with safety features “best offer” was $619 a month plus tax. Pretty different.

Their “best offer” likely isn’t the best offer. Have you seen either of the recent posts here on the RX? One was for $317+tax

Sounds like a good deal, and similar to what the OP should be looking at. FYI for next time and others you likely would’ve saved quite a few bucks on an SLT trim. SLE’s have higher rebates but the SLT has a substantially higher residual, so above ~$32k MSRP the SLT becomes less expensive than a comparable MSRP SLE. At least that’s how it’s been for the last few months.

feels like we aren’t talking apples to apples. Convenience package/all safety elements only available on top trim… so the MSRP, even on the terrain wouldn’t be $35…

So if i apply same discounting as above, I would come out, on the equinox, to ~1000 less than what we’re being offered. So I don’t think we got the worst deal out there all things considered. Could be a little better…

Dealer is claiming this offer is only valid through tonight/EO month situation.

You can get all of the safety features on the SLT. Driver Alert Packages I and II. No need to jump to Denali
