You could pay me to take it off your hands.
Itās a Quattro! Itāll just slice through those snowy off ramps.
The car or the wife?

Convincing the wife would be easier
How did you get yourself into your second near-divorce experience over a car? Are you that inconsiderate, or is she that unreasonable?
Have you gotten quotes from Carvana, SHIFT, vroom yet? Get that, find out your payoff and then decide if the check youāll like need to write to cover the negative equity is worth it.
You know those Buzzfeed listicles in the News app like ā23 things people are saying that were an immediate red flag the marriage wouldnāt lastāā¦
All,
Now I understand the
reference. Itās good fun for everyone and Iām along for the ride⦠
ā Seriously though, appreciate all the suggestions for leaving the lease early.
With regards to my wife, she is a good woman and knew what she was marrying all those years ago. Iām sure the tension will subside, well, until she hears every cold start of the 500hp 4.0L V8 over the next 35 months⦠
@TypeSH
Great suggestion. Checking those sites today. Thank you!
The used car market is great and you can sell the car easily. Explain to her you may be 5 to 10k out of pocket, but happy wifeā¦
Valid points. Although I was trying to be considerateā¦was a miscommunication of what she wanted (GLE53) and of course my choice (SQ7).
The CTS-V is on me. Was a December 31 deal that anyone here would have taken (I think
).
Glad to see youāve retained a sense of humor about all this. But wanting a 6-cylinder GLe53 over an SQ7 is definitely grounds for divorce, Iād grant you
of all joint assets

We have money set aside in individual accounts for each of us to buy things the other would consider profligate.
Of course, there may be other issues if you share one vehicle.
Hmmm I still donāt get it. Itās not like you bought a 2 door sports coupe in manual with having 3 kids⦠You just bought a different brand of luxury SUV.
Is it the monthly payment difference between the GLE?
Like others said, either take the hit now to dump it, or wait a few months and try your luck with Carvana/Vroom/Algo/Shift.
I suspect that an SQ7 is actually going to lease for cheaper than a GLE53
That may be true, but from my experience, it was worth the major expense to get away from her
Theyāre super easy to use, can do it all online. Maybe 20-30 minutes of your time total to get through all the major ones. Carmax, youād have to go in person - but worth getting a quote there too to check all the boxes. I suspect your wife may forgive the burly V8 and the larger size of the Q7 vs GLE (if those were the issues) when she sees how much $$ youād have to eat to get out of the SQ7. From what you described, it sounds like she has a bias towards being practical/pragmatic, so ultimately, this entire exercise might just get you some relief from her angst. (ie: āok fine, no point in us losing $8,400 just to get out of it. Next time - ask me first!ā etc etc)
Or itāll just further piss her off since she didnāt want the car in the first place
