Hmmm I still don’t get it. It’s not like you bought a 2 door sports coupe in manual with having 3 kids… You just bought a different brand of luxury SUV.
Is it the monthly payment difference between the GLE?
Like others said, either take the hit now to dump it, or wait a few months and try your luck with Carvana/Vroom/Algo/Shift.
They’re super easy to use, can do it all online. Maybe 20-30 minutes of your time total to get through all the major ones. Carmax, you’d have to go in person - but worth getting a quote there too to check all the boxes. I suspect your wife may forgive the burly V8 and the larger size of the Q7 vs GLE (if those were the issues) when she sees how much $$ you’d have to eat to get out of the SQ7. From what you described, it sounds like she has a bias towards being practical/pragmatic, so ultimately, this entire exercise might just get you some relief from her angst. (ie: “ok fine, no point in us losing $8,400 just to get out of it. Next time - ask me first!” etc etc)
Nor do I. I imagine that both the GLE53 and the SQ7 are just lovely, so I’d personally be happy w/ either one. ::shrug:: And, as you said, it’s not like she wanted an 3-row SUV, and he got a Corvette.
I guess I am lucky. My wife does not care what car I drive or how expensive it is. She does not really care about what car she drives, as long as the seat moves up high enough to let her see over the steering wheel and hood (she is short).
I totally agree - OP has been a good sport about all this, even at his expense
GLWT, however it turns out. I wish I could say I’d take this off your hands but…, and I don’t want to end up a meme
