Not going to have much luck selling a 24 without any going through auction and an Mmr. Had this happen last year in a stronger market.
23 has been surprisingly good for flipping these. But thats done.
I will say the cash off incentives are stronger than I would have expected giving you a margin to try work with. But I’m not messing with them other than when my order arrives at 8% off invoice.
Did you mean GC? Can’t see there being any profit there. If you look at where base 22s are now it’s playing out like typical GC depreciation.
As for Wranglers, recently sold a 61k 23 Rubi 4xe and got lots of 48k offers until settling on 48.500. After selling similar ones for 52 and higher in the months before.
It’s really about what you’re trying to roll into. A dealer who needs to move a unit will often stretch on a trade to get it done if you’re in range. Cash only you’re looking at bottom of the KBB range but could stretch to high end if they want to make a deal.
Edmunds is showing 48-49k on my 2022
Sahara I couldn’t imagine not being able to get at least 44k for it. I have not checked the Mnr these days. A good touchpoint on the rubi and Sahara would be cool…
I finally sold my last Wrangler back to the dealer as it was 2021 with random small issues.
Now I see that NJ has nice rebates but their tax is high. Does anyone know if I register in NJ and then flip it to NC, does CCAP adjust my monthly note on taxes or do I lose that NJ tax?
I’ve started getting quotes to sell my '22 Rubicon 4xe out of its lease.
So far Carmax’s range is $37k-45k. They want me to bring it in for a full quote.
Carvana is $38,500 and change.
Give Me The Lease is $41,000.
Vroom won’t buy leases.
It’s a '22 Sting Gray Rubicon with 8,000 miles, SOT, leather, safety and advanced safety. MSRP was $68k when I leased it 10 months ago. I guess I’m pretty shocked that offers are in the mid $30k range. Edmunds says the dealer trade-in value is $53k and retail value is $59k. Buyout price from CCAP is $50,500.
I never intended to try to flip or turn a profit on this, and I optioned it the way I wanted in case I had to keep it, but I’m a little shocked at the upper $30k offers.
The main reason I’m looking to sell it is because it’s super loud inside and I can’t hear my 2 year old talking to me from the back seat, but there are other reasons as well. I originally wanted a GC 4xe, but the orders weren’t open when I needed a car. I thought I could at least break even on the lease, but it’s amazing how much can change in a year.
I’m probably going to head to the local dealership and see what they can do, but I’m not getting my hopes up. I’m in Los Angeles btw.
KBB range is 42-46 for a trade value so what’s likely is something mid-range for that but getting to 45+ isn’t crazy if you are rolling into another deal.
If you want a GC 4xe you might be able to work a deal where they give you a better rate on the trade to move a unit. When I sold my 22 Sahara, similarly optioned, it was to a dealer that needed to move WRXs so they gave me the best offer.
Optioned up Rubis have been one of the worst for resale, just because they can get so pricey. But totally understand why you’d build it the way you want it.
Request a quote on carfax, truecar and cars.com as well to try to find dealers looking for inventory.
Great call on carfax and truecar. I’ll check them out, thanks.
The local dealer still has two '22 GC 4xe Overlands on the lot. Seems those aren’t moving, so maybe they would make a deal. Granted they are $70k MSRP, and will be worth less at lease end since they’re older. But who knows.
Or try some other brands that’ll just go off book value for your trade and get a good deal, like leasing a Rav4 Prime when they’re applying 6500 to the leases or one of the crazy EV deals being offered now by the SoCal brokers in the marketplace.
Might have to get creative and put some work in but you’ll find a way to hear your kid request that you pick up the bag of goldfish he dropped before he screams.
I had a lifted WJ and XJ before this, so I figured living with a new Wrangler wouldn’t be much more difficult. It’s been great, and would be a keeper if I didn’t have a young kid.
I considered the hotheads liner, but videos online only showed a couple dB drop. Does it really make that big of a difference? I mean if I end up keeping the Wrangler, it’s a no brainer either way.
