HOW TO GET A GOOD WRANGLER 4XE Deal; Buckle up for a LONG read! (Part 3)

I’m so excited about the premium soft top on our second 4XE. Can’t wait to pick it up for that exact reason. Ease of removal. I’ve never had a soft top, so this will be an experiment, but I’m sure we’ll end up using it a whole lot more than the freedom panels.

Other than fabric quality what’s the main difference in the standard soft vs premium? I don’t mind the default/cheap one on my current ride.

I had both on my JKU. The premium one looks and feels better and is better insulated. I don’t have any experience with the default JL soft top, but if the difference is similar, it is worth the small price increase IMO.

This sounds like me. My first order was premium soft top. I would liked it for the most part what I did not care for is the limited access to the cargo area and the vinyl windows scratching. If you you can get by with those I think it’s an awesome option. On our second I went with SOT because it’s my wife daily with the kids and access to the cargo was important and she would utilize SOT all the time but probably would not fuss much with the manual soft top. For us the SOT is with it for our use case and what we value. If it was just a second car that I was the primary driver it would be premium soft top for sure.

Access to the cargo area is the same reason I don’t care for the soft top. I know it’s trivial, but having to unhook that back window and flip it over the top is annoying when you are just trying to load stuff back there.

The premium soft top is nice, but if you are looking to flip, don’t bother. I didn’t really notice a difference in noise between the premium and the standard. It looks a bit nicer, but other than that, I don’t think it’s really worth it.

There is that. My kids were like that to begin with, but between the intense Florida sun and the wind at speed, they quickly got over sunroofs. I think we’ll use the soft top less the windows a lot, but they might get over that quickly too. Damned if you do…

I have been working with a broker who has provided the lease calculator for the amount I should expect to pay to complete the one-pay lease. Today I met with the dealership finance department and received the documents to sign. The finance documents from the dealership include $1,380 for license/registration/title fees which were not included in my calculator from the broker. Should I have anticipated these fees?

Just reach out to your broker for information.

I’ve been lurking for awhile. I just put in an order for 3% under invoice with confirmed buy rate mf at Chapman. We will see how it goes!

License, reg, etc are fees that have to be paid. Its not unusual for brokers to post generic calculators with some of that annotated as extra since it varies significantly by state. Its generally disclosed, howver, that they will be added.

Comes with the blessed doc fee

The moment you enter VA you get blessed

Plus freight. That is the most important part.

I thought that’s in the msrp?

Yes but they are adding it on top a second time. That is usually what happens when they say plus freight.

Yes, its supposed to be, unless you’re a dealer thats intentionally misrepresenting the numbers so you can claim 6% under invoice.

As they said… it is a VA thing. They claim a certain number or percentage off but then add some back. It is a joke.

I called and it is exactly what I thought.

6% behind invoice then they add freight of $1695.

Non refundable $1k deposit. Also requires financing with them.
