Anyone getting body color matched HTs yet? Mostly keep seeing everything else being delivered - my wife’s body color HT from 11/16 still has no movement (for reference mine was basically the same except did black HT and picked up the jeep 2 weeks ago)

After failing to get a Camaro, then also failing to get a Frontier Crew, I just ended up depositing money for a Rubicon. I don’t plan to flip it but maybe I would want a different vehicle in a year or so. Hence the question. I have been trying to read through the comments but my brain was skipping over the flipping comments because I never thought I’ll need it.

How did you fail on the frontier? It just started a couple weeks ago.

Just got email from dealer. Production is scheduled for 1/29. Ordered 12/17 from @Clutch’s southern dealer. Sahara, Black/Black, Power top, Safety Group, Advanced Safety Group, Tow Package

There were many Crew cabs available in the city around 10th January. There were none this weekend when I called and visited the dealerships. Cargurus is outdated and even Nissan local inventory search is outdated. When I call, they say they are already spoken for. There were 3 dealerships that said they can possibly get their hands on it but ended up not hearing back from them. I know the dealer sold the same deal to other people just a few days before I contacted them. I guess I was just a bit lazy and something about Frontier was putting me off. By the time I made my decision, it was a bit too late.

Also keep in mind you will need to hold onto the lease for a period of time as well - fact check me hackrs but I believe it’s 90 days.

Not really. Only if you don’t want the dealership to get dinged and potentially not work with you in the future.

The intention while leasing was not to flip. I do need a car and want to sell my older one. It is just that if I decide to upgrade in a year or so. Maybe the end of 2022 might be a good time to payoff the lease and sell this but we will see.

Went from Shipping ETA of 1/27-2/04 yesterday to Delivered to Dealer at 11am Today per Jeep Chat. Seems…fast!

I also did a Dual-top for my Rubi. I am going to assume that would not make it a good flip. But I really liked the idea of having both tops available for summer and winter weather. Even though Dual-top is more expensive than buying the hard-top and soft-top separately. It was like a $10 difference in lease so I thought why not.

Do you have time to change your order? Dual top is a bad idea for a number of reasons. They are a pain to swap and store the one that is not on the Jeep. It is also super expensive now, and you will never get the money back. If you end up selling the Jeep, you could sell it with the soft top and sell the hard top separately, which is another hassle. The Sky One-Touch is the best of both worlds.

Color matched hard tops are being built, almost a guarantee there is nothing specific holding yours up. Welcome to how Jeep schedules production.

Placed the order yesterday. I would have to ask the dealer if he can change it now. He already provided me with VON #.
I was thinking, in the cold winter, I would prefer a hardtop. I would switch to a soft-top during summertime. So maybe changing the tops twice a year shouldn’t be a big deal? I didn’t think about where to store these tops in the meantime. Shouldn’t they come with a box to pack them in nicely?

That is weird. I have never not had to show income proof when leasing. Is this normal with ccap?

The hard top is super heavy and awkward. I have a hoist and a rack and I still dread dealing with it. The soft top is all packaged up nice once, I think removing it and all of the trim pieces and getting them back in the box would be a big challenge. Watch some You Tube videos of what is involved in swapping them out.

This is what I use, yea it doesn’t give you full top off feel but it’s so much easier than hoist, storage, etc.

Agreed, that’s why on my incoming Rubicon 392 I went with SOT!
