HOW TO GET A GOOD WRANGLER 4XE Deal; Buckle up for a LONG read! (Part 1)

,

They must be giving you frequent buyer priority treatment. We ordered from Daniel at the same time and mine is “in scheduling”.

If you are in D1 you should have a VIN and an estimated ship date (build date)

Oh, I was calculating taxes. But, if living in a tax/monthly state, then, yeah, makes more sense.

The purists are full of it. They accept a 350 (I know you were just throwing that out there for fun, but it is true), yet they never came with a 350. That’s not even an AMC engine. Just pitiful.

NY taxes upfront not monthly so its built into cap cost / base payment. so if he was in a state like PA, the payoff wouldve been like 39k lol

Then I’m definitely missing something. Where did you come up with those base payments? Added to the RV, that’s only $40,939. So you are saying he got his, including up front taxes and fees, for $41k cap cost? On a $53k build? Was he one of the lucky ones with an 11+% discount?

I dont know his exact cap cost but he did send me a pic of the lease payment matrix which showed the separate base and rent charge. If you get from gupton youll also get that pdf which shows exact breakdown. Yes, he was one of the firsts to get from that dealer and did get over 11% off. Along with rv and base payment ccap charges 350 purchase option fee and one month rent charge if your next payment is within 14 days I believe

When you purchase, the $7500 federal incentive must be claimed as a tax credit, which means you must owe at least $7500 in taxes to use the full credit and it cannot be processed at POS like you can do with a lease.

This is a dangerous thread to be subscribed to! Getting excited about getting in on the action.

To streamline my questions:

  • Is the average equity delta larger for a Rubicon vs. a Sahara, consistently?
  • Other than a hardtop, what other options seem to be desirable and increase offer values?
  • Thoughts on leather vs. cloth?
  • Need to keep the car for 3 months to retain the Affiliate cash, right?
  • If I can get Affiliate and MSRP to MSRP - 5%, is this still worth it?

The residual books change every quarter. Wonder what’ll happen next quarter. Maybe the advantage is to find one on the ground now and get a less aggressive deal to start the 90-day waiting period before an eligible flip. Wranglers are somewhat seasonal, so they dip in sales and desirability when fall hits, and really nosedive January-March. Buying tomorrow = Earliest flip opportunity in September.

Thoughts?

Beware…

IMO, If you currently have one of these (or will very soon) and are able to sell it, you’re probably almost guaranteed a significant profit. If an order is being placed today and the sale can’t occur for a couple of months, the risk may increase dramatically.

I know everyone here is a big boy and girl, but I feel obliged to restate there is some risk involved.

This is true but IMO worst comes to worst and you have a great deal on a vehicle to drive for a few years. Plus Wranglers are easy to flip for the most part so you can always wait it out and then sell.

100%.

If someone is buying now with the intent to flip and has no use for it otherwise (and no desire for it), that is where the risk is.

And…dont use your rent money on this

Well, that’s sort of what I was thinking as well. It would make sense to lease an in-stock unit now vs. ordering. That said, can anyone offer clarity on the 90-day waiting period for the Affiliate program? Is that a thing, or can a “flip” be done before 90 days?

For me, I would lease, would like to flip, but could wait as well if the market (inevitably) sours. I previously owned a JL Unlimited Sport S for a little over a year, so I’m used to the Wrangler shortcomings.

Apologies if someone’s already asked this - but what’s the protocol on backing out if the numbers get substantially worse upon delivery? From what I understand with BMW, this is pretty doable, and with BMW I believe you can pick the best numbers either from delivery date or from order placement date (ie. locking them in) since you can’t do that with Jeep, I was curious if you could just walk away from the deal upon delivery. I would think the dealership may not mind either, considering they could prob sell the car for quite a lot?

The deposit (typically $1000) would be lost😢

Got it, thanks! That’s unfortunate, so you are kinda captive because of it then. Part of me wants to wait till July 1 to place the order and hope it gets delivered by the end of the month haha

Had my order ready to go and now my wife wants a highlander… Decisions decisions…

Divorce is cheaper than Highlander.

Just curious, did anyone get the additional $1000 credit by signing up for Jeep mailers/emails?

I’ve signed up 2-3 times starting a little over a month ago and I get regular emails from them but no $1000 bonus credits as of yet and no snail mails. Hoping something shows up before my Sahara arrives at the dealer.
