While I understand you can check MF, RV and rebates upfront online: how to find out about the dealer discount - or guess a good one - before even contacting thr dealer?
By researching shared deals and marketplace listings here
Hi,
How to do that for a particular car / dealer?
Any hints?
Call a dealer maybe not as local or even out of state. Tell them you’ll offer them 20% off MSRP and come down and sign today if they take the deal. If they say no way and act like your crazy, hang up and call another one and offer them the same but 15% off MSRP. If the car isnt super in demand you could probably get anywhere from $3 to $10k off by doing this.
Marketplace advertised deals should be your benchmark for a start and try improving over them by asking for quotes in your region. They will be far better as a start than you can do it yourself in the first go.
When I was new to this forum I was probably as lost as you are. You need to take a look at the Signed Deals & Tips and look at the numbers there. You also need to look at Marketplace and see what brokers are offering in your region .
If you have a lot of time on your hands, and don’t take hearing 'no" like 20 times personally, then doing those two things will give you the information you need to start making offers to dealers. If you find hearing no uncomfortable or frustrating, then stick with the marketplace.
Keep in mind that landing one of those stellar deals you see in here takes A LOT of work.
Good luck on your car search!
