How to calculate rolled in lease tax in NY, NJ, MN?

The LeaseHackr Calculator does not roll in the lease sale tax in the financed balance and make put is as a drive off cost. Does anyone know how to roll in the sales tax ?

For example, if the sale tax is $1000 and money factor is 0.00100, rolling it in will add how much on the monthly payment (assuming 36 month lease)?

If I am not mistaken nys requires the tax be paid up front. Thus the calculator not allowing you to roll it in.

Add it to the selling price, then make the tax 0%

No. In NY, tax can be capped in the lease. I’ve done it many times and, as recently as June '18. For those interested in how NY computes sales that are rolled into the lease, please see my post at…

Is tax on a lease calculated by my total payments? I was just told by a dealer that you pay tax on the purchase price of the vehicle??

Which state?

In New York

No. In NY you pay tax on your total payments, not on the selling price.
