How much Audi Q5 extended warranty costs?

I am financing new Q5. Dealer pushing extended warranty for 84 months 70k miles for $3500. Is it reasonable and worth?

What’s 3 years and 20,000 miles worth to you?

Will you even keep the car that long? Be honest with yourself.

Thats true. I might keep extended warranty if it is really good deal (which it sounds like is not), as this amount is refundable/transferable if sell before. That being said, is this decent cost for warranty ?

If it’s the first offer it’s unlikely the best.

I’ll have to see if I have any literature on warranty plans I can dig through to figure out a reasonable cost but if you have little or no intention to actually use it, why get it?

That being said, I can generally make the case for tire and wheel or other coverages that preclude you from making a claim on your auto insurance comprehensive coverage.

The first offer was some $4500 and came down to $3500

Also, the tire and wheel care is offered for 2200 (initial 3k) for 5 years. Is that decent enough?

No and no (wheel and tire - really?) but they are better than the initial offer, but it also depends on how good of a deal you are getting off of MSRP and on financing. If your deal is great and they are making some $ on this then you have to weigh it all. See how anxious the are to make the sale and they may give you some more room to move the prices down.

As was said, you are at 4y/50k factory as it is and this extended warranty starts from Day 1 and is not added down the road (common misunderstanding).

Maybe see what the Audi peeps are paying for a warranty currently over on AZ?

As always, check the brand-specific forums for sponsors and information on extended warranty pricing.

Why do you need wheel/tire for a Q5?

Thanks for the inputs and the forum link. Deal is 8% off MSRP/2.45% APR. The dealer said tire repair costs can be expensive, around $500- 700 and rim can be even more expensive.

Tire and wheel is one of those that I do recommend with low profile tire/big wheel combos or just plain expensive tires. At the right price of course.

If you just have base wheels I prob wouldn’t sweat it too much.

The Audi specific forums are a better place to get there, but IIRC you’re still at more than a 2x markup.

Unless you are driving this into the ground, and you know that is enough miles to do that (is it?), and you expect engine sludge, I’d just pass.

Yes I am thinking to pass it. Will purchase something if I plan to keep this car, probably will get at same rate if not cheaper.

If you got a quote from a dealer, basically halve it. Dealers make a killing on EWs
