What are the steps you take when you’re on the hunt for a new lease? Do you email, call or go in person?
If you email, how do you start the communication? Do you layout your deal to them?
How do you get a dealership to reduce their selling price?

This has been covered extensively throughout the community. Try searching, reading Leasing 101, etc.
Yeaaaaah I have. Leasing 101 does not outline what’s working for people now and many posts are from 12+ months ago and as we all know- life and circumstances are much different today.
Thanks!
I just sent you a leasing basics document I put together, which includes a sample email that has worked for me.
All initial communication should be via email and you should only speak with the dealership once you’ve agreed to a price by email.
Post what you found in your search here and what aspect(s) you find outdated.
“Hey Mike I know you have nothing better to do than stare at rate residual tables what is leasing great this month?”
@aronchi “Lease X if you want cheap and not good, Lease Y if you want good and not cheap, Lease Z if you want mid all around”
Thanks Mike!
Thank you!
More like “please only reach out when you’ve done your homework and determined what exactly you are looking for, so I can provide pricing. We don’t provide suggestions”

Hi! @BigLebowski I’d love for you to send this to me too please! Not new to leasing but definitely new to being smart about and currently searching for a deal. Thank you!
Hi.
If you are communicating solely via email, do you go into the dealership in advance to test drive? If so , isnt’t the salesperson making a hard sell to you there? Do you just walk out and email the same salesperson (along with other discounts)?
please just be upfront that you have zero intentions of purchasing anything from them and that you are just wasting their time. If you want to be kind throw them a google review
I understand that from the dealer perspective but do people really do that ?
Yes. When I got my Audi GT I went to the dealership to test drive it, told the salesman I wasn’t ready to talk numbers, then went home and emailed my offer. When they accepted my offer, I made a point of telling the sales manager how great the salesman was (because he was) and made sure he got credit for the sale.
mind sharing the love?
Absolutely nothing about the art and science of negotiating has changed in that time frame.
Don’t use that as an excuse to not search LHF.
100% inaccurate.
You’re a fun human!
Thanks. So you don’t email the salesperson direct, instead, you email the internet sales team for the dealership ?
If you can, please pm the leasing basics doc you put together. Really appreciate it.
If you did a test drive with a salesperson, you should email your offer to them. They will likely forward it to the sales manager, who may be the person that responds to you. If you didn’t go into the dealership then yes, you can just email the internet sales team. You can also look on their website for the sales manager and just email them directly.
A hard sell only works if you allow it to.
Did they break your legs after the test drive?
Everyone who can walk into a dealership can walk out of one.
