In texas, how do y’all find a deal on a loaner? I’m looking to get a good deal on a loaner similar to some of the SIGNEDs I’ve seen on luxury cars. Wanted to see how I would go about acquiring this.
There really isn’t an easy answer. Not all dealers list their loaner fleet on their websites. Those that do may list them in different ways. Some will have them under “new”…others will have a tab on their webpage that lists “loaners/demos” … others have them on the “used” page. As far as I know, in TX a loaner vehicle has not been titled. Therefore, on the “used” page if the carfax doesn’t show a previous owner it may be a loaner/demo.
What brand of luxury vehicle are you looking for?
Do you know TX residents pay full vehicle tax on a lease (versus most other states that tax only the payments)?
Yes. Some lenders have tax credits available that reduce this, but they’re not advertised. There was just a thread the other day discussing this.
A mercedes or a BMW! Also good tip on the title thing, i will keep this in mind!
What area of TX are you in?
I stay around austin and houston often!
Mercedes , any mileages only comes up in used search across the car search platforms including mbusa inventory search.
You need tax credits for TX deals. Weren’t you working with a couple of brokers? They’re your best source frankly.
Reach out to @IAC … the brokers are going to be your best bet on demos/loaners. They’ll also tell you if it’s worthwhile to do loaner/demo vs new. Only recently have we seen some loaner deals start to make sense. Sometimes the discount just isn’t enough to justify going with a loaner vs new.
Also, MB and BMW are not going to have any sales tax credits on ICE vehicles now as far as I know.
When i reached to my local MB dealer, he couldn’t give me a list of cars they could apply sales tax credits for but mentioned they reserve them for high ticket purchases.
