How do we identify what the manufacturer's Money Factor Residual % is?

Hello all,

Noob to this site and first post. Live in CT. How do we identify what the manufacturer’s Money Factor (MF) and the residual% is?

Is there a “warehouse” that publishes all the different MF factors and residual % on every manufacturer, model, and trim levels? Do they change monthly?

I see the leasehacker calculator adds in an MF but it doesn’t ID the model or trim.

For example, Mazda (allegedly) has a different MF on the Mazda CX-5 preferred (.00204) (70% resid%) compared to the Premium Plus (.00105) (68% resid%).

In looking at CX-5 Preferred, I called the dealer on their .00204 MF asking them to lower to the .00105 that comes with the Premium Plus quote I received. The dealer said the .00105 MF is only available on the Premium Plus (I didn’t tell them I was also looking at the Premium Plus). And welcomed me to come in so he could “prove it” on his computer. I didn’t bother I went with the Premium Plus with it’s $3 a month lease price difference.

Another example is also for mileage - 10k (69% resid 12k (68% resid) on the CX-5 Premium Plus.

Obviously, I don’t trust the dealers to provide the correct MFs or any other pricing which begged me to ask this question prior to helping a family member get a lease soon.

Thanks!

Having current, accurate information for residual value, money factor, and incentives is important in understanding your deal. As such, going directly to a source that has access to that data from the captive banks is your best option. The forums at Edmunds are where we go to get that information, as they have direct access to it from the captive banks. You’ll want to post in the model specific thread for the vehicle you’re interested in and request the most current numbers for your zip code. It is often easiest to find that thread by searching Google for “Edmunds lease” followed by the model of vehicle you’re interested in.

Alternately, you can try the Lease Program Query tool on the Leasehackr Calculator, available to Super Supporters.
