I had high hopes and received the following offer for the 2018 Chevy Volt LT 5dr. I am in Omaha, NE. I have a Costco executive membership, new grad, own an Asian car. What am I missing?

Move to California.
Seriously, though, it’s because:
- GM’s incentives on Volt are higher in CARB states.
- California has a clean vehicle rebate program (CVRP) funded by cap-and-trade.
- There’s much more competition among dealers (there are 20 Chevrolet dealers to choose from within an hour’s drive here on weekends); the Southern California region is the biggest car market in the US.

nice.
but not everyone can afford that
Volt lease residual is low. That’s why.

The Asian car rebate was for leases only, not for purchased cars, and it expired in March. It was $3000 and was a big reason why there were killer Volt deals at that time. Also, residuals are worse now and incentives are less. Basically the perfect storm to make for poor lease deals on Volt.
