How do I calculate a One Pay for MB for a GLE 350?
Here is what I think it is. I used the Edmunds One Pay MF, doing this for relatives. They are in a state the does not permit MSD but does allow one pay.
Also, what do they need to get to be assured that if the car is totaled they get their money back mostly?
The deal is not great but is ok for the times. They got $750 AMA group and $1000 loyalty
The fact that many deals are at MSRP makes it so much easier to structure although you are paying more. They cannot understand where I get numbers but it really is pretty simple if you are not worrying about trying to get under invoice you can easily track every number except with the one pay I am not sure. They will probably do monthly payments and for that my numbers and the dealer’s are the same
Pretty sure MB is a brand you can lease in a neighboring state that allows MSDs to get around that. IIRC only Infiniti (?) doesn’t allow you to lease out of state with MSDs and domicile the car in a state that forbids them.
The top tier MB interest rate is .0027 6.48% for paying monthly and .0019 for one pay, the cars are priced at MSRP. They got a small discount off of that. They are also getting a bunch of equity for their old car coming off lease.
I told them to purchase it and they said no. Wife does not want to be driving this car in 4 years. Don’t care, I got them the best lease I could, not much more I can do, no one is selling these cars at invoice or at a lower interest rate as far as I know. What else can I do to negotiate this lease?
As for the MSD, I am not calling a dealer in another state even if they can do MSD, they are really happy compared to what their long term MB dealer wanted to charge them when they first called
Did I calculate the number correctly for one pay? Do I just add up all the payments and upfront fees at the one pay MF?
It is a good thought and I will keep that in mind for another lease but these relatives are not going out of state, it was all I could do to get them to call a couple of other MBs in the area.
One downside to OOS is that this state only allows dealers to charge $175 for the registration. I have negotiated other leases for myself and tried a couple of OOS dealers and the problem, other than the inconvenience, is that they can charge much more to register the car which negates the savings. When rates were low and I buy mid price Toyotas and Hondas for myself, the MSD was not worth it. Now that rates are higher I may have to consider but hopefully will not be leasing a car anytime soon.
Also, I often spend time looking at the brokers on here (have leased three cars in 2-3 years for myself) on here, and their position has always been that MSDs are not permitted but maybe that was a standard response, no idea. I have shopped Nissan which owns the one you mentioned
