I am working with an out of state dealer on a 2025 Cadillac Optiq AWD Sport 2 and very close to a deal, but need some help getting it over the finish line. Here are the issues I’ve identified.
I am ultimately looking for a one-pay lease for the MF reduction, but the salesman stated that they weren’t sure how to do it. They obviously need to figure this out. They stated that they ran this at the same MF number I see in the Calculator for the normal lease.
The Gross Cap Cost seems to have ~$1200 extra in there somewhere. I thought I previously confirmed no adds or packages. I will reconfirm. Any other ideas on what I could be missing?
My tax rate is 8.75%. Am I correct that the capitalized taxes number implies a much larger tax rate? Does this number mean $84 in capitalized taxes per payment or $84 in total capitalized taxes over the term? Neither number makes sense.
Any other issues identified?
Is there a more detailed breakdown I should ask for?
Are the government fees (Title, license etc) only $46.33? They might be not calculating the exact amount in the quote.
Just tell them that you want to do a one pay for $9.5k and you are aware that there is a discount on the money factor for a one-pay so they should be able to reach that number without any additional discount.
That is beyond disgraceful! Either they’re too lazy to do it or they don’t know. Any way you slice, it doesn’t bode well for them.
I get 1122.03. Every time I see these quote sheets formatted in this way, there is always something that was added to the gross cap. So much for transparency.
Not much larger but you now have tax on tax. I assume CO taxes the monthly base payments. Is that correct? It’s never a good idea to cap taxes. The 84.30 capitalized tax is the total capped tax and has nothing to do with the payment.
What you are doing is chasing after the dealer and allowing them to control the deal. Bad idea! You may want to educate yourself about how to optimally construct a single pay lease and then, build a one page professional-looking lease proposal. Below is a document that will enable you to do just that…
They need to call GM Financial in that case. Have your salesperson escalate it to the GSM. They aren’t doing you a favor by facilitating a 1-pay lease, it is offered by the bank.
As an anecdote, I had to sit with the GSM of an Audi dealership and call AFS to have them walk through how they could apply MSDs to my lease.
If they want the deal it shouldn’t eat up a lot of time.
I know of plenty GM dealers in NJ who refuse to do one-pay leases. The dealership isn’t required to provide you this option. It comes down to, are they uneducated or following policy.
