How Did I Do On This 2018 Touring Accord Hybrid?

WTF is so impractical about a hand wash? I don’t see the point in buying a brand new car and treating it like shit.

Automatic car wash = treating your car like shit

Again, not mean to offend Honda Accord or their owners. I have own one and loved it. Never mean to not keep thit car clean either.

Two reasons for me to say what I said. 1) water restrictions is tight in my area. For many years, washing cars with what used to be reasonable amount of water will get you a tickets. For this reason, my previous car bought new, 2012 Forester were mainly wash outside, although not those drive through, I don’t think car wash place do hand wash either. 2) previous to that, forester, 2001, was mainly hand wash. And honestly I can’t notice degrade in paint quality. Keeping it clean is the key, not necessarily hand wash is what I have observed.

You don’t live in a cold climate

I discovered the world of high pressure washing when dad gave me his old electric power washer. I can wash my car in 5 minutes, eight months out the year. Cost of water probably a buck, plus it waters my lawn. Those 4 months is a struggle, but my car is grey, so can’t really see 15 feet away.

Is there a break in period before you can wash Accords? Lol!

Yeah cant/really don’t want to hand wash a car in New England from November to March. And that is when you need to wash it due to snow and salt.

Machine washes once a week for 3-6 months out of the year…

And of great utility is the “bidet” feature of the drive thru to help dislodge the salt from the undercarriage. Not sure I could get that kind of coverage with a hose or wand, certainly not as easily.

I have always hand-washed my cars myself for the past 2 decades. Currently I have 3 cars and I take turns every week to bathe one of em. Sundays is car wash day with my 5 year old and all my neighbor thinks Im crazy  cause I spend a good 1.5 hours. My oldest is a 08 Type S and the newest is the wife’s encore. The mdx is a pain though so I wash the sides and hood but the detail guy comes every month to take care of the roof

That’s the best part of a lease, you never need to spend extra for the undercarriage wash

I washed cars every Saturday with my Dad as well when I was growing up. Some of my best memories as a kid. Can’t wait to do it with my own son.

Yeah… my first attempt at that resulted in someone ditching the nice sponge they were using and miraculously locating one of my stainless steel wire brushes…

Sikeessss !!! lol.

I’m not laughing at you. I’m laughing with you.

My son is 15 months old and I’m continually amazed at what he is capable of finding that I have tried to hide.

Oh yeah. You know they are up to no good when they are always walking around with a stool in hand :joy:

It’s when he is quiet that I get nervous and end up finding my printer open and the toner on the floor…

I’m a newb and I haven’t seen this at all. The issue is people who want to be spoon fed every piece of information and don’t want to research at all. Just give me give me give me.

Or they come AFTER the deal which is a waste of everyone’s time.

That’s because they’re built in America. Some people check VINs to see where the car was build and will only buy a Japanese build Honda/Acura. Difference is usually squeaks and rattles. They used to be much easier to find but I haven’t kept up with all that.
